Pop! Yoyos is excited to announce that our first bimetal is in the works, and the prototypes are inbound soon! Dubbed the Salamander as the dual signature of Sal Mosley and Luke Belanger (aka @Nootnewt), the Salamander is designed to be a competition-forward bimetal model offering immense power at over 36k mmoi without sacrificing comfort, having the same body profile as the Weasel Gen1 with thinner walls. While all but 1 of the 5 are accounted for, I want to share the last proto for a Pay-It-Forward event for feedback and to generate interest! The prototypes should be arriving from manufacturing either next week or the week after. Please let me know if you are interested in trying out what should be a fun yet competitively-minded yoyo.
Weasel Gen 2: with a new, non-stabby flavor.
With extensive feedback for the first-run Weasels, we had overall rave reviews except for one thing: the thorn. With the only other change being a slightly wider gap, the Weasel Gen 2 offers all the fun of the 1st iteration without being a literal safety hazard. Coming in lilac, mint, cherry red, and blasted raw colorways, the Weasel 2 is intended to be an object d’arte alongside pure, unadulterated fun without the contest scene really being in mind. After much ado, the Salamander is finally here in its prototype iteration! Weighing in at 65.6g and occupying a massive 57x53mm profile, I have found this to be a good blend between competition-oriented performance and fun. Plenty powerful and exceptionally stable, this yoyo is excellent at both 1a and 5a. My Salamander will be available to try at PNWR, Nats, and hopefully Worlds this year. Unfortunately, there are only 5 in existence atm, and they are all spoken for, buttt if you see me at a competition or club meet I will gladly let you try mine.

Unlike the Salamander, which is intended to provide an ultra-premium 7075 bimetal experience while costing 130 USD approximately (subject to change upon release but I will do everything within my power to adhere to this price), the Quiz is intended to offer affordable performance and fun, with a projected sale value of 80-85 USD (note- this is also subject to change but I will do my absolute best to ensure this price). We firmly believe that great yoyos should be available for every player.
