Peace out 5a May!
Leaving 5A May with things to ponder.
Yo I’m going to ask my 5a questions here bc I think it makes sense even tho May is over.
Am I doing this right? This is my first bead cw it’s a porykon Jupiter. The beads are to adjust the CWs weight correct? They fit inside but I made it loose so y’all can see the construction. Thanks y’all I’m getting close to being done asking so many Yoyo questions.
Don’t ever be afraid to ask questions on here! It’s like more than half of what this forum is for haha, beads add very very minimal weight, like .whatever grams a piece. Porykon usually says something like “comes with the beads to self-correct your string twist” so I guess that’s their biggest purpose other than the occasional double dice style stuff, or if you’re like me and just like it for the aesthetics
Okay so I can put it on the other side so it’s visible too! Sick thanks I like your method
You could put the bead in front for sure, but it may end up sliding down the string and into the gap of the yoyo if you’re not careful. Idk maybe I’m just not experienced enough to feel let’s say .3 grams difference in a CW, but to me it’d take like 5-6 beads to feel any sort of difference in weight
Oh bro I just realized, no you don’t need to tie a slipknot around the CW if you don’t want to! That’s really the other big purpose of the bead(s). Tying a slipknot would defeat its purposes
The string knot is enough to keep the bead in place, like previously said, tying a slip knot around it all kind of defeats the purpose.
Just like people saying bearings help maintain neutral string tension, beads for adjusting total weight is just another thing people say a lot, but it’s not really a thing. I’ve never seen anybody use more than a single bead, and porykon hasn’t sold their “weight adjustment pack” in years. It’s more marketing fluff for a somewhat sound idea, rather than a feature people actually use.
Lol okay yeah I knew something wasn’t right thanks y’all
