The Look
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Landon’s work, It’s
art. This thing bears resemblance to an ice sculpture with ‘see through’
clear rims and a slightly frosted middle it looks like it would be cold to
the touch. Every bit of it is symmetrical without a visible flaw on it.

Acrylic skill tower, so awesome it’s about to burn a hole in my hand.

The Build
Amazing, definitely shows Landon’s years of experience turning yoyos. I
could not pick out any imperfections, no chips, no flat spots, no tool
marks(which is more than I can say for some A-Grade manufactured yoyos
I’ve bought).

I’ve noticed that how tight the halves have to be torqued takes some
getting used to, too tight or loose and there’s some minute vibe, but you
have to either wrench it way too hard(it’s easy to do this if you’re used to
tightening metal yoyos) or leave it way too loose for that to happen.
There’s no bead blast on mine, but I know from experience that Landon’s
blasted acrylics rival most metal blasts for grinds.

The yoyo is completely customizable in color(have you seen the rainbow?), finish and bearing
size(C,D,A). Mine is a C as I don’t really care for smaller bearings.
I’d also really like to see a rainbow colored with a bead blast, so if anyone orders one post pics.

The Play
This thing is monstrous, in diameter width and weight this thing is well
within the large category. As such the play is slow and deliberate. It’s
about a medium in the float department, it stays up longer than it
should, but lets you know when it hits the bottom of the string. The
narrow gap has helped me with some of my trickier binds but is still large
enough to handle a string wrap or two. The incredible amount of rim
weight means longer than normal plastic spin times(comparable to many
metals I’ve thrown). I’ve had no problems with stability like I have with
some lighter plastic throws.

I’ve heard some describe lighter plastic throws as “cheap” feeling
(although I’ve never heard any of Landon’s yoyos described this way),
well there’s no chance of that here. From the first throw it definitely feels
substantial, very un-toylike.

Make typically boring dogs exciting with addition of only 1 CMA!

The Conclusion
This thing is a must for the heavy yoyo fans, and is equally attractive to
the artistic yoyo fans. The play is awesome and even better considering
it’s a plastic. The only people I would not recommend this yoyo to is small
children, 73 grams of tethered projectile would have got a 10 year old me
in a lot of trouble.
