That’s the coolest horizontal combo I’ve ever seen🤯
Theodore Muñoz’ 5A prelim was insane. Not the clickiest routine, but he got us ALL hyped up. Even my wife and 5yo were rapt.
Totally crazy that Kerbel took 3rd with the insane routine.
It just shows how high the bar has been raised for modern 1A…
Was there no women’s division? I didn’t get to watch much of the stream; only a few minutes. I tried to find it in the YouTube channel, and got mixed up for a few minutes thinking that the 2019 women’s performances were for this year.
No women entered unfortunately
No 1a womens division entrants. I know a few women who would have loved to be there or compete but couldn’t manage the time away from work and finances for it.
Is there any word yet about a likely location for the 2023 Nationals?
Heard a lot of talk about keeping it in Mesa. Nothing solid though.
I’m definitely super biased being from CA and all lmao… but it would be pretty nice to bring it back to Chico or somewhere else in CA. There’s such a huge hub of yoyoers here, especially in SoCal.
I think the combo of low-cost venue, low-cost hotel, and low-cost transportation (gas, flights, AND public transit) are the kickers there. Cali is great, and the weather would certainly be better, but the savings is a huge draw.
One pink and one green yoyo lol
Probably One Drop Rev2s, but you could always just reach out to her and ask if you need a definitive answer.
Not being cheeky in anyway, but are the Rev 2’s actually competition grade?
I’ve always shyed away from them because I’ve thought when compared to the other absolute great One Drops that they weren’t as performance oriented.
Perhaps they are? Anyone have any thoughts, I mean seeing them used in competition does lead me to believe they must have some pretty good qualities.
A ton of Aliyah’s trick circle posts on insta/facebook have been using the Rev2 which is why I’m just assuming it’s also her contest choice. Just player preference.
Pretty much any modern not-highwall yoyo would qualify as being competition grade. Even the stuff that may seem inferior in terms of performance. A Japanese 5A player I’ve been following for a while has been consistently placing well in competitions using a 1to1 which is one of the last yoyos I would’ve expected to see on stage at a glance.
Also something something Gentry winning nationals in the past with a Replay Pro.
Totally true.
different perspectives.
Also hibbity gibbity Evan just winning Nats with his monometal $40 Edge 2022. (I think that was the price, could be wrong but it’s around there).
Skiddadle skidoodle john ando winning 2022 nationals with his 18$ signature Loop 720🤣
