2020 String Fling!

Honestly, I can’t wait to ship these. It’s fun organizing this, but I’m so afraid that I’ll screw something up!

Also,I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing reactions to opening these. It’s weird to think that y’all have NO CLUE what’s about to hit your màilboxes.

It’s going to be like “whoops! Sorry about blowing up your mailboxes…”

Right!

So glad you did and thanks to everyone who got in on it right away and inspired this late bloomer to find the passion as the impasse.

The only thing i keep in mind is that you love French Stuffs . And you will still like the french strings.

Interestingly, the ziplock bag from Arlequin is different than our American ziplock bags. The closure is a different style. In a good way.

I love the subtle differences in everyday objects between countries.

I’ve been throwing the samples I made that didn’t make the cut for my final string recipes. One of them is surprisingly waaaaay better than I thought after it breaks in. Anyone else get some surprise good strings in the discards?

after i wrapped everything, and put it on my drill, and spun up a nice 6 wrap, i looked at my hook, and realized a missed an entire wrap, it’s too thin for me, and i hate it.

I made a batch of cotton I thought were off. Later I found they just had a long break in period. They’re actually pretty awesome! Exceptionally soft and strong, just have to get past the mind boggling break in phase.:sunglasses:

I actually pulled them from the shipment due to my mixed feeling about them. Sorry y’all. They are however going out separately to someone I know will appreciate them.

So, no word from @SpyseaRice or @pmdon. I assume they aren’t participants. At this point gentlemen, I would like to announce that the First International String Fling is CLOSED. I have one more set of strings to get. We talked and agreed he could ship a bit later than planned. I STILL need to make MY strings, which makes me “that guy”…

BUT!

once I have the last set of strings, I’m getting these suckers SHIPPED. I’ll be winding the last few sets on Monday, making strings Tuesday (no, REALLY!!!) In a perfect world, I’d be shipping on the 24th. The world’s NEVER perfect, but one can hope.

There’s the news from Lake Wobegon, folks.
