2015 YoYoFactory MYSTERY Box - *SPOILER ALERT* - Official Thread

If I told you it was US made, would that make you feel better about it?

All YYF boxes say made in china… The country of origin of YYF yoyos has never been of much concern to me.

I was just wondering if the other poster had some sort of info we weren’t given.

wasnt directing towards you. But to everyone who keeps asking if it was China made and the one bummed out about his superstar. Or maybe he was bummed out on the color.

Feels like US made. And if it’s China made, bravo.

Do all the x boxes come with bimetal superstars? And what colors did you get?

I have no problem with it being MADE IN CHINA, just people were asking about it earlier and I just noticed on the side of the box. Initially I wanted the Blue, but now that I think about it the black/chrome matches my hat (MADE IN CHINA TOO), heh.

Lol. The hat is :fire:

Really wish they made that teal green with bronze colored rims. Exactly the way it looked in the video. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

i dont think it was bronze colored rims. Just aqua with steel. The video effects do obscure the actual colors but i dont think its a special one…

To clear up the whole made in China thing, yyf posted on ask.fm saying that the 2016 dogmas are assembled, tested, packaged, and branded in the US.

But manufactutured in China? Not that I really care, it plays just as good as my USA-made 2015 Dogma and can’t tell the difference in quality at all.

i know. But I’m saying they should. Or someone should. It would be beautiful.

Havent recieved my yoyos yet but I know all about the content of the boxes. This years mystery box made me realize that from the viewpoint of yyf and yye just how difficult it is to please every single customer. Theres always going to be that little detail that people will blow out of proportion. All in all I believe this was a particularly spectacular mystery box even if all of the yoyos were made in china. Thanks yyf and yye for trying to improve the experience every year and for being understanding of your customers.

I finally pulled my Aviator 2 out of the package from the mystery box just to see how it felt compared to the Aviator I already own. If this was made overseas, I can’t tell the difference in how they play. Both feel like an Aviator 2, just a different finish.

Taking a closer look to the 2 Aviators, this Aviator is just everso slightly different from the original Aviator 2, it’s just slightly smaller in width (we’re talking maybe a puny 1mm) and the step on the inside wall is slightly shorter. In terms of play, they both feel exactly the same. Both are amazing throws and are very stable and comfy to hold. I could be wrong but the bowls on the mystery box aviator seems just slightly more concaved.

One thing I’m glad about with this mystery box as much as I already owned these yoyos and enjoyed them: Many of these yoyos seemed to be ones you never really heard much talk about, especially the Aviator and the Dogma. I noticed that these fine and underhyped throws got into the hands of more players, giving them the attention they deserve. I was very pleased with the Dogma and the Aviator 2 when I purchased them over the summer and kind of had to make a decision as there wasn’t much talk about them on the boards.

They didn’t specifically say that it was manufactured in China, but the way they wrote the response implied it was. Either way, I think it’s funny how people claim to be able to tell the difference between a throw manufactured in China vs. the US XD.

yea, i ll totally go back to supporting them in a moment as soon as they fix their bearing seat, which every other legit Chinese brand already did like back in 2012.

They are all made in China.
I have no idea why people think that made in China means bad quality. What it means is cheaper price.

I was thinking the same thing. Doesnt matter where it was born. What matters is how it plays.

You can kinda compare yoyos to people in this context…it doesn’t matter where they come from as long as they are good people…my inner philosopher needs to be quieted down now… ;D ;D

I was going to make the exact same analogy actually. Good call.

BTW, The Dogma I got in Box A has a really nice ring to it. The sound is unlike any of my other yoyos. Does anyone know if this is due to a particular type of aluminum being used ? Mine almost has a titanium ring to it. Really bright and clear.
