I just got this years mystery box in the mail. My son looks forward to this and since $50 is our Christmas present budget this is all he asked for. He understands that if the box contains a yoyo he has purchased then he is out of luck (there is not much chance of this since he hasn’t purchased many, other than last years mystery box, which he saved for). However the mystery box this year is the exact same yoyo as last years mystery box! The mystery box is the only chance he has at getting any of these expensive yoyos but now his Christmas present is the same mystery box as last year, what a rip off!
You could still sell it for $100 and get him a better yoyo then
Good sir, I mean not to offend you, but which yoyo are you referring to? The protostar?
Your box should have also included the new yoyofactory un released yoyo and a unrealized kendama along with it, if it does not, then there must be a problem!
There is the Protostar, a kendama (don’t know this is yet but I’m sure my 11 year old will figure it out, he has taught himself all his yoyo tricks), two card packs, a couple stickers and a yoyo tool.
There should be one more plastic yo-yo in the boxes well. We triple checked each Mystery Box before sending them out so it should definitely be in there. It was not packaged in a box like the other yo-yo, just a plastic bag, so you may have missed it.

Contact YYE immediately. Your son’s box should have also included a new unreleased yoyo. That yoyo is pretty much the main attraction in the box. I can see how receiving the box with only a protostar and kendama could be upsetting. Especially if this is one of the few times you purchase yoyos.

I’m pretty disappointed with this box since there wasn’t a metal; and getting a kendama out of nowhere, especially a non-JKA approved one, especially makes it worse for me.
Kinda like handing me creamy sherbet when I ordered sorbet, but I’m lactose-intolerant. I guess this is what happens when you gamble on a “mystery”

Okay everybody, got my regular and collector’s boxes! Pics here:
I got the Shaqlerstar, Regen, Catchy Air, clear multitool, stickers, and two packs of cards in my regular box much like everybody else.
As for the Collector’s box, wooo! Black/green acid wash with purple splash Cypher. Black with gold/purple sponge Aviator. USA Super G. Purple with blue/silver splash Shutter. And last but very not least, a 5 of 7 gold Space Cowboy! And a whole pack of 2014 trading cards too.
Not sure of the numbers of the other colorways, but the 5 of 7 Space Cowboy is awesome, and I haven’t seen this Cypher color available anywhere yet. Everything came with CT bearings, which I’m pumped about.
Correction: everything in the collectors box came with CTX bearings. The Regen has a regular CT, and my Shaqlerstar has death grip spacers currently on what I presume is a regular CT. Oh, and the Regen doesn’t use spacers.
If the surprise mystery yoyo was a metal super G would it make it that much better?
And it seems like you have other kendamas. They’re probably JKA approved. How does that stop you from having fun with the Catchy Air?
Anyone not happy with their plastic mystery box throws I’ll trade a “metal” yoyo from the dollar store.
