How to make my YO2 sleep longer

Hi guys, for christmas I got a yo2 triple action crystal yoyo and im finding it pretty useful. Im managing to get some basic and some intermediate tricks nailed down and im enjoying learning. However im only getting it to sleep for about 10 seconds which isn’t enough to get more advanced tricks done. Also, anytime I go into a split bottom mount or a brain twister mount, my yoyo seems to stop spinning really quickly and I can’t do tricks like split the atom or brain twister. So, can you tell me how I can get my yoyo to sleep longer and how to maintain rotation in brain twister mount or a split bottom mount.
(im a bit of a yoyo noob so don’t make fun! ;D)

Throw harder

How are you using that? It can be used as a fixed axle, clutch return, or free spin. You will get the best results with the free spin. With the clutch return mode that is about all you will get. It’s designed to make the yoyo return more or less w/o any player action.

I don’t have one, just looked at the ads on a store that sells them.

I use it so it doesn’t freespin, and it won’t just return to my hand whenever i throw it (don’t know what clutch return means :L) But on free spin it won’t ever return to your hand so it doesn’t really do the job.

Then you’re using fixed axle??
If I remember correctly, clutch return is automatic. Basically, when the yoyo spins too slow, the clutch activates, halts the yoyo, and it spins back to your hand. Free spin will get you the best results, and if the yoyo’s responsive, all you need to do is tug the yoyo. If not, YoYoExpert.com - Intermediate - Bind Returns

Frankly I don’t think this yoyo requires a bind in any shape or form. It will always be tug responsive.
My guess is that he’s not throwing it hard enough for the clutch to work, and quite probably the string needs another twist around the axle.

I’m also guessing that it comes with the clutch mechanism engaged by default. Here’s a bit from yomega about auto-return yoyos: http://www.yomega.com/help/support_autoreturn.htm
