Description

YoYoFactory - SHU-TA

2012 World Champion Shu Takada joined forces with 2013 US & 2014 World Champion Gentry Stein, to bring you this awesome collaboration model!

This is a collaboration model between Shu Takada and Gentry Stein. Takada is a big fan of Gentry’s signature Shutter, so they took the Shutter and upgraded the body material to 7075 aluminum, which is denser and more durable than the 6061 model the Shutter is made from. The quality and potential of this yo-yo is apparent the moment you pick it up, and during practice it responds to your commands with laserbeam accuracy.

Furthermore, the sides are even deeper and more concave, to better accommodate top-on style play.

Whatever your play style, the SHU-TA takes all the playability of the Shutter and steps it up to the next level.

That’s all the information I could come up with on that one as well. Be cool to find one now.

That is the Shu-Ta but I believe the one on the image is the Shutta. It was an Australian special that can be seen through the stars on the engraving and I think only 40 were produced. Gentry has a video on it on his YT. Maybe I am wrong and if I am, please correct me.

Man I missed my shu-ta, it its one of my favorite since it was built different. 7075, heavy weight, rock stable than the original one.

What do theee generally go for if you find one? I enjoy my OG shutter, id consider one of these if they aren’t absurdly expensive

Someone has a Shutta for 50 bucks on the BST somewhere recent.

I think you got them all however it is worth noting that there are two different wide angles, the first few runs were 64 grams and I believe in 2019 gentry had Yoyo factory add a bit of rim weight so the runs from then on are 66 grams. I actually prefer the lighter one. I still love my first run blue and silver fade. One of the first yo-yos that I really remember being really excited for, saving up for and getting when they released back in 2017

Oh yeah, I’m not able to speak the different runs.

I know there are a multiple (probably more than two) variations of the OG shutter too.
