I’m down to! Shoot me a message
These are just amazing, each one a small work of art.
loss for words
how does your mom perform?
That doesn’t even look real!
Forgive me but this point seems strange to me.
To remove the anodization (then open the pores and let the dye come out), if you use a sodium hydroxide solution, it takes just a few seconds.
I don’t know what you mean by “preparing the surface” but a couple of hours still seems really excessive to me.
Am I missing something?
I usually use Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner which takes about an hour or a bit more on average for me to remove the anodize completely. I‘ll try using a pure NaOH mixture some time, had no idea it was so fast haha. Prepping the surface usually includes a polish which can take some time. The better the finish is the better the powder coat would look.
I highly recommend it, not so much for a time speech but for quality of work, being very fast the result is absolutely homogeneous and precise.
When you try, you can tell me
Thank you for the advice! Maybe I’ll hate stripping anodizing less lol
You will see, you will not even notice that you have done it!
Hey, do you use food grade NaOH? I’m looking at the Lab Grade stuff too but am wondering if that’s too strong lol
Hi! sorry but between the time zone and work I only saw the message now.
It does not have to be for food use, it is mainly used for soap production or for cleaning … it is commonly called caustic soda, it comes in white flakes and it is almost pure anhydrous sodium hydroxide, it has a very high concentration, the 96-99%.
here she is
P.S. I use a spoonful of soup in about 3/4 liter of water at room temperature, all in a glass container (do not use metal containers because they degrade by explaining aluminum or plastic because they melt).
It is useless to repeat how highly corrosive and dangerous it is, so I recommend you use all the necessary PPE!
Good work!
I love your work so much. Any white involved looks so classy on a yoyo.
