rip @Durfee. really awesome colorways!
I don’t think he’s collecting Shutters anymore. In fact, he seems to be purging himself of them.
lol yeah i know.
That black one…
Really like both colors.
What is a inner foil design?
See that little circle around the hub?
I do see that im just confused by the word foil.
Yeah me too. I’d like more detail on what exactly they mean as well.
I think it’s referring to this definition of Foil - A leaf-shaped curve formed by the cusping of an arch or circle, typically occurring in groups of three or more in Gothic tracery.
Or maybe foil as in airfoil, idk. It’s the circle thingie in the middle.
I would think that it is describing this part of the hub (see image):
edit: I screen-shoted this from @G2_Jake’s Let’s Cut a Yoyo - Episode 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46zK_VRRbD4)
I think in this case, the word foil is used to describe a thin piece of metal. Maybe @yyfben2 can confirm?
The shutter was actually the first modern metal yoyo that I bought when I rediscovered yoyo-ing 2 years ago. I was blown away with the engineering and machining required to make this cup. I am still impressed with this design. It is a thing of beauty!
