I think it’s referring to this definition of Foil - A leaf-shaped curve formed by the cusping of an arch or circle, typically occurring in groups of three or more in Gothic tracery.
Or maybe foil as in airfoil, idk. It’s the circle thingie in the middle.

I think in this case, the word foil is used to describe a thin piece of metal. Maybe @yyfben2.deactivated can confirm?
The shutter was actually the first modern metal yoyo that I bought when I rediscovered yoyo-ing 2 years ago. I was blown away with the engineering and machining required to make this cup. I am still impressed with this design. It is a thing of beauty!
