Or like mine which has a horrible bearing, vibes, and has the absolute WORST, and I mean WORST darn death grip bearing seat of death ever. I was wiggling the bearing for like 20 minutes, it didnt budge a millimeter.
Donât worry yourself sick over it. It doesnât matter what product youâre taking about, the people who receive any sort of a defective product are usually the most vocal. Iâm guessing that there are very few packs that were sent out with problems. Itâs a lot more likely for somebody to comment about their complaints of a poor product than for somebody to post a comment praising something.
I mean, there were 488 packs in total, and there are like 3 people with complaints? Thatâs less than 1% that have issues with their packs, based on what weâve seen so far.
Thatâs not to downplay the issues those people are having. If you guys truly received defective products, I hope something can be worked out for you. Iâm just trying to be reassuring, whereas you guys are slightly discouraging to others. Donât trash the product, just accept that you got a defective product, and try to resolve that with YYE/YYF instead of complaining to the rest of us. Both companies are pretty damn awesome, and Iâm sure theyâll do their best to right any wrongs.
I think youâre downplaying the issue a little bit. Very few people have actually received their order. Most will receive it on Monday. Also, not everyone who buys from the website has a forum account. I truly feel that we will hear of many more reports of vibey Cyphers. The quality control just isnât there.
See, you could very well be exaggerating the issue as well. I was just trying to ease the minds of those who havenât received theirs yet, I wasnât trying to discount the fact that you received a defective product. Youâre automatically going to be inclined to think there must be plenty more like yours, purely because you got a defective one. If it ends up where there are a large amount of defective Cyphers shipped out, then Iâll admit I was wrong about the QC. But there is no sense in worrying people before they get their own pack. Take your issues up with YYE/YYFâŚTheyâre friendly people.
You donât even know bro. i mean, yours you can still screw together and use, my friends shutterâs bearing seat was so tight, it would strip the axle when you tried to screw it together, and i cracked my multitool trying to get the bearing off.
How does a bearing seat effect the Axelâs ability to screw in?
Iâve had yoyos were it squeaked to when screwinb it because of the seat.
I think I figured out the problem. Yes, the bearing seat is extremely loose. The bearing falls right out of mine. However the real problem is that the half with the axel is bent. When I spin it to unscrew it, you can see it wobble.
Again, did you order using first class? YYE sends the packages in a yellow envelope, so the throw could easily be crushed.
My box was not crushed or anything like that. The popstar is dead smooth. I did not take the yoyo apart to string it originally ⌠So i can agree with people saying the quality control is bad, there is no way anyone threw this yoyo and thought that the WOBBLE mine has was acceptable. I just really hope something can be done to help because this looks like it would be an awesome yoyo. I was able to use another yoyo with similiar specs to narrow it down to one half of my cipher. The half with the very loose bearing seat , or more loose bearing seat on mine is the bad half, the other half is probably dead smooth and what little vibe I feel is probably because im using 2 different yoyo halves⌠that side does have sort of a death grip on the bearing but I was able to get it out and replace it a few times while testing. Ive tried different axles and bearings in all configurations ans it still comes down to that 1 half. I am hoping something here will jump out at someone more knowledgeable as the obvious reason and is why I am writing out everything I can think about it.
Iâve really never had too many problems with YYFâs quality control before. I know theyâre a big company and needing to mass produce stuff like this, but honestly the quality control on some of these cyphers is just horribleâŚ
Sorry to hear youâre having a problem with your Cypher, all of the ones we played with were very smooth! Give us a call or send an email and we should be able to fix it or swap it for a new yo-yo.
All SE yoyos have loose bearing seats and they play smoothly.
SE?
As in One Drop Side Effects. He is right.
It wasnât the bearing seat. One half of the yoyo is bent slightly. You can see the wobble while unscrewing it.
YoyoExpert is replacing it.
Itâs like the other side of the bearing seat could not fit into the bearing.
