Protrusion took a while. Mainly, when you do the “C” shape with your NTH, the string wants to slip one way or the other. It doesn’t want to stay still. The only thing that helps is patience and practice. Almost as if by magic, one day it was staying where it needed to stay and I was like, “Great, now I can ACTUALLY learn the rest of the trick.”
Keel your protrusion in its appropriate place! Lol!
I had a very similar experience. I was trying for a while with not much luck, then I woke up one morning and could just do it.
