That’s sad. Looks awesome though!
Looks great. But 60 grams… Matter of taste of course, but it may be a bit too light.
I’ve got a vote for SolidWorks. It’s crazy versatile and fairly easy to pick up. It’s easily the most intuitive interface in a CAD system that I’ve picked up yet. There’s also plenty of help available online.
Maker’s license seems to be pretty worth it, only downside is that they lock out most collaboration with the business versions.
Does it have side effects? It can’t tell my looking at it but it kinda appears that way. If so that could be your problem. I hope you get it figured out. The Yoyo looks fantastic!
It does have SE but I don’t think they are the problem. OD manufactures them to a very tight tolerance. Meeting with a physicists who can hopefully shine some light on what’s going on.
If you run into info about what software might be used for simulation, I’d be very interested in hearing it.
Me as well. Or just how it was done if no software was used.
Did you use one of the normal yoyo machine shops (fpm, one drop, etc) or is this a machine shop new to turning yo-yos?
An established shop @Simyo
They might be able to help determine the vibe or tweaks to help smooth it out.
Not sure if you are an engineer, but I am, and I work with CAD softwares all the time. These are awesome! I’m getting Jeff Pang vibes (Luftverk), check him out if you haven’t yet. I love the YouTube videos showing him honing the Solidworks models of the yoyos he’s designing. Keep up the good work
How close are these to being released? I’m geeking over here.
Tossing this up here cause it’s cool
55mm diameter
50mm width
64-65g
Just awaiting for fpm to make them
Looks awesome! What’s the MMOI for half? Looks like a lot of overhanging steel at the rim. I bet it plays powerful. Jealous. I wish I could produce one of my yoyos through FPM. Do you have a name?
Unnamed still, I’m trying to see if I can find the Moi on this thing but I’ll update when I find it
Update: just above 17k per half
literally no clue, I have 3 production models already lined up for this year
That’s so exciting! The ring bearer was my first MK1 yoyo and its amazing so I can’t wait to try more!
