havent tried with shims, but i think you’d need at tleast 0.35mm worth of shim to make the 4mm bearing work. iirc its about 0.7mm gap between the bearing posts when fully tightened down with the standard D bearing

Its interesting;
Post are too long for a 3mm and possibly 4mm bearing.
But the ZGRT D-Bearing blank fits and works (3mm thick). My guess is that the flanges on the blank are .3mm taller than a standard bearing (11.3mm Diameter).
The question will be, after further review; Does it “need” it? Do we want the production run with shorter posts? What are the implications of this modification?
I have found in my limited play so far, a Medium thickness string is working great with the 5mm bearing.
Standard string was a little too “Slippy” for my taste.
Havent tried Thick string yet.
But… Being able to tune response with a simple string change, Mr. Jake is right on track.

I also want to point out I’m here to get the club what they want. Constructive criticism is needed. No ones going to hurt my feelings.
The respawn is designed for what I like in modern responsive play.
We can make any updates to fit what the club is looking for in the workhorse.

If I had 2 .03 shims with a 5mm ID I could make that 3mm bearing work like a champ. I made it work with the shims I had but they’re made for a C bearing so the ID isn’t ideal. It barely catches. But with that dry 3 mm in there it was SO responsive. Wanted to bite if you let it sit on a trapeze too long. I feel like a dry 4mm bearing is going to wail in this thing.
