Do you say “wash” or “warsh”?

I found this article pretty interesting. I have actually heard this from both of my parent’s families. (Virginia) and my father-in-law (Washington state) I’m sorry… I meant… Warshington…:rofl: How the pronunciation of ‘wash’ became ‘warsh’ : NPR

I say wash, but no judgment. I pronounce library as (lie-berry.) Never trust a berry.

My wife says Lie-berry… and simyular… and nucular  my dad say Chicargo. Father-in-law says Warshington. I’ve heard other relatives using warsh. Not me Buddy… I speak normally…

Regional dialects are very interesting to me. One of my favorites is how do you pronounce crayon? I grew up in a “cran” household and am pretty well stuck on it.

“Cran” house also represent!

My wife from New Hampshire pronounces Cabinet in a way that I always make fun of her. Haven’t heard anyone give it the same syllable structure outside of her family.

I (and everyone I know down in FL) says “cab-nit” and she distinctly says “cabi-net”
And I’m always like “we don’t have any cabin nets, no nets that can fit a whole cabin, what are you talking about,” then she gets mad at me, lol!

A lot of family members on my Italian side (Queens born) say “Earl” instead of “Oil.”

It was always really weird for me to hear them say it.

Cra-yon. My grandmother would take the tars off the cars and burn them in the fars.

I just started collecting Uranium/Vaseline Glass from the around the 30s. Started being mass produced in the 1830’s. Popular during the depression years the glass coloring contained uranium dioxide. This glows under UV light. I only just recently found out this was even a thing.:exploding_head::nauseated_face:

I have a couple of those as well, super fun!
A little shot glass, a goblet, and a little bird votive candle holder.
Two of them are the standard green, the shot glass one is the blue glass that glows green.
