@rkalajian Look what just came in today! Haha.
Must have had a long adventure, but seems like we have a super limited edition Eco-Friendly Reusable Juice Box up for grabs in one of our future events after all.

That’s two of three! I guess the last will show up eventually
Stupid JetPrint.
I was geeking out when I got one in my order. It sits on my shelf as a reminder of my first order.
(They are amazing BTW). Absolutely love em’!
If I can find it I’ll send you the info. I found several companies that had minimum orders of around 10 and discounts the more you bought. Want to say, depending on the metal they were made out of, they started at $20each.
This further increases my desire to build a setup to melt aluminum and cast forms of silly things. One day when I’m not worried about small kids messing with stuff I’ll do it. Can’t have nice things till all the kids are idk 20 lol
Hi folks, finally got my hands on my workhorse a few days back and thought I’d share some thoughts..
I’ve been kind of comparing to my respawn which I’ve loved since picking it up last month. My initial impression was that the workhorse was a better performer but not as much fun to play as the respawn however, after a few days of playing I’ve changed my mind and I have to say that the workhorse surpasses my respawn.
At the start I found the workhorse slightly less forgiving with the narrower catch zone and like it needed more precision in throwing, but after a few days throwing it I’m finding that the weight is so perfectly distributed that it’s easy to throw as precisely as needed and also to correct yourself if you land something crookedly e.g landing a crooked trapeze is easy to correct with the slightest movement.
I’m also really liking the higher internal wall, it seems like I can gather more layers of string in there before it snaps back, which I didn’t expect to be the case.
Finally, it’s more pocketable which is great!
Apologies if my musings are somewhat incoherent, TLDR; love the workhorse, 10/10 would buy again
And it’s RED!!!
Makes it go faster
For me, workhorse beats any metal responsive I’ve played to date. I haven’t tried EVERY metal responsive ever, but I’ve tried my fair share, including many that most people consider “the best”.
Nothing comes close to the perfection that @G2_Jake created for us.
I don’t know that I’ve ever actually said it, but I’ve definitely thought it… Thank you, Jake, for taking the time to design such incredible yoyos for something that mostly started out as a joke.
How lucky are we to be in this incredible club?
Aside from my wife and kids, it’s my favorite group of people that I belong to. We have so many skilled, talented, kind, generous, compassionate, crotchety, awesome, funny, beautiful people among our numbers. I’m grateful to count myself among you all
Edit: thanks for pulling that out of me @BandH apparently I needed to get that off my chest and you ALMOST saying respawn was better is what did it
glad you saw the light
Ditto
I sold mine, but just because I needed quick cash. I will definitely hunt another down in the future, probably that red one, I’m not a red yoyo fan, but that red has me rethinking
Dude that bought mine has some wooden caps from @AudreySickburn in there, I didn’t try them but I bet they will be amazing
I’ve only come back to throwing ~9 months ago, and my skill level is pretty low, but the Workhorse is also my favorite metal modern responsive. And I’ve hunted down a ton of modern responsives in the past 9 months. And there’s plenty of stiff competition out there, Weekender, Respawn, Confusion, Deep/Deeper State, Daytripper, Slim Jim, Janus, El Mijo, RBC, Alleycat, Stoopid, Block, etc, etc. The only thing I’ve not managed to track down yet that I suspect might be in the running is the MK1xSW Metal Harbinger.
The workhorse is wonderful. If I was going to change anything I would just make the bearing even smaller. but adding a 4 mm wide really helps it at least for my preferences.
So many classic responsives uses tiny bearings, Tom Kuhn bearings are about the same diameter as an Mr85 just a bit wider, custom used similarly tiny bearings before switching to A. I think the proliferation of unresponsives accidentally brought on a trend of increasing responsive bearing sizes that didn’t necessarily improve the them.
But I might just be a yoyo boomer pining over some classics too. Lol.
I feel the Workhorse did exactly what we wanted it to do. Is it the best at any one thing- No. Is it good at most everything in the responsive realm - Yes.
I have had a Workhorse in my pocket everyday since getting it. It goes everywhere with me. Even started wearing a ring in my jeans.
Is it the best?.?.?
Depends on how I want to play. There are times where I feel for what I want to play, there is a yoyo that does that thing better. But that same yoyo does not necessarily just transfer to the next thing I want to do. That might be another yoyo. With the Workhorse I play however I want to play.
I can’t wait to see the next revisions. The more I play with the current version, the more I would like to see a few tweaks; Workhorse Lite, Workhorse Fingerspin (Dimple or Spike).
Just a reminder, Operator v.2 Prototype Order is still open. We need at least 2 more brave souls to commit and sponsor the run to make it happen.
What is the cost for the operator prototype?
The Workhorse is the only throw I play pretty much every day.
I have a very hard time believing a D bearing responsive yoyo would be all that crash hot. I want to believe though.
What are the specs of the workhorse, @Pun1sh3R?
@Glenacius_K
Diameter: 55mm
Width: 31.8mm
Weight: 54g
