Many have asked and been looking for aluminum MiJo’s. Just a few tweaks in the design to make it more pocket friendly and slightly lighter, besides totally new colourways of course.

Greetings club members!

The YYBC has been in talks with club member @Glenacius_K about the possibility of organizing a group buy for his upcoming unresponsive yoyo, the Flying Lemon. You can check out some additional details on the Flying Lemon here.

We’d like to take a quick poll to see if there is interest within the club for participating in a group buy. We would have Glen ship us a big box of Flying Lemons and would re-pack and ship them within CONUS.

Details

Our goal is going to be to offer the Flying Lemon to club members at somewhere in the $80-$85 range, shipped.

We would like to keep this to YYBC members (all you need to do is ask) in the CONUS.

Our goal would be to run the group buy as a pre-order, with money collected in advance.

My (@TryCatchThrow’s) best guess for timeline would be something like this:

  • Yo-yos are manufactured but Glen has not yet received yoyos. He will receive, QA, and offer to retailers before us. I naively estimate this will take 1-2 months
  • YYBC will run a group buy after this is all done. We would run the group buy for 1-2 weeks or until we filled a certain number of slots if only a certain number are available.
  • Glen packs and ships yo-yos to YYBC representative in CONUS. Estimated 2 weeks.
  • YYBC representative receives, breaks apart, and re-ships. Estimated 2 weeks.

My tl;dr: on all of that is that I expect we would run the group buy in July, with an estimated date at your door in September, but I want to be clear that this is a guess on my part.

Interest Check

Again, participating in the poll below is not a commitment, it is just an interest check.

Are you interested in participating in a YYBC exclusive group buy for the Spinworthy Flying Lemon?

  • Hell yeah
  • Def not
  • I need more details

I want to add that I still hope YYE themselves take the whole run. I am still trying to have a conversation about it with them @AndreBoulay, @YoYoExpertEric.

Only failling that, will they be going to the Boomer’s Club.

As I’m becoming interested in smaller bearing throws, this would be a fun one to have and mess around with, mayhaps I join the club and partake in the fun?

Fixed the gap issue on the keys? The ones orderable now?

Oh man. I am so ready for this.

Yes. Slim bearings , particularly the D one, are easier to remove by adjusting the diameter 0.05 mm.

This is excellent news.

Awesome thanks!

I’m in. The timeline gives me plenty of time to save up, which is awesome!

Speak for yourself! :joy:

Bearings showed up after work and I made the switch. I like the 4mm flat bearing a lot better. Good amount of responsiveness but still plenty of spin time if desired.

Looking at the bearing pocket it looks super deep. Is there a spacer available to allow for an A size bearing. After playing with the Origen so much I wonder what an 4mm MR85 would feel like in the Workhorse or the Weekender. Does anyone know if there’s a space adapter set available anywhere that would allow for use of an A or MR85 size bearing in a yoyo made for a D size bearing?
