Yoyo Appraisal Thread

its worth 120 people will pay 60-70

rigt there some inflated some lowballed but for the majority pretty close

You DO know its condition, right?
Let’s just make sure you aren’t under the impression that it’s MIB or anything.

Another one in the same condition was up for over 2 weeks and wouldn’t sell for $35… .

That sounds like a paradox.

As for the discussion of lowball offers. I think a lot of people fail to realize that once the yoyo is damaged a collector won’t want it unless it’s impossible to find otherwise.

Please use the term “lowballing” properly, people.

I certainly can’t speak for 42 pages worth of appraisals but every yoyo that I’ve posted in this thread that I’ve ended up selling I have sold for 25-150% more than the highest appraisal it received. On the other hand, there have definitely been a few appraisals I’ve seen that sounded rather high to me. I like this thread and will continue to use it as a rough guideline, but at the end of the day, I’m much more likely to get $150 out of a specific throw than some 14 year old kid who needs $100 right away to buy that next yoyo. He’ll list his for $120 and take the first $100 offer that comes his way. I’ll just buy what I want and let the yoyo sit on my BST until someone pays $150. There is no definitive what it’s “worth,” there’s only what it’s worth to individual prospective buyers and what the seller is willing to let it go for.

As for the Evil Yo, specifically…$35-40 is obviously a bit ridiculous. $60-70 to a person looking for an Evil Yo to try is much more realistic. I also wouldn’t classify it as “near mint”.

i did kind of over exaggerate on 120 I would agree with miamibuddha and oops at 60-70

I’ve always taken this thread on the idea that we’re looking to sell it within the day of listing it or as fast as possible so my appraisals have always been on the low side of things

Nmib og jasper geode avalanche. Few light scratches around the rim. Dead smooth
Irony jp 2k13 blue. Ano burns all around. Dead smooth

I have a red/blue a grade general yo hatrick it’s near mint with a few small marks. It plays dead smooth
Just looking to find out what it’s worth

$60

This will probably never leave my collection, but I am curious what it is worth:
A grey/brown/orange Kitteh Code 2. It is mint and has the original box, all packaging, and all the stickers. It is #3 of 23.

It’s a pretty nice code 2 but it’s still a code 2 so I’d think somewhere in the $100 range

That was a special collaboration put together by Sniffy yo. I think it would get more than a regular Code 2 by far. No less than 150.00 I’ve got a blue one I’ll never part with either. I love the paw prints in the rims.

It’s still just a Code 2. If it goes for $150 then it’s because the guy wants that exact Code 2 for their collection and I’m aware of 0 people that collect Code 2s specifically…if they do they probably already have one or both Kitteh colorways.

In my opinion $100 is somewhere between a fair and slightly generous appraisal for a yoyo that is available retail on nearly every online store for $100-115 in a multitude of colorways and for much less on the BST. OD makes absolutely phenomenal yoyos but at the end of the day a lot of their models simply suffer the YYF disease, ie there are so many of each model produced that they do not hold value very well on the secondary market regardless of how rare a certain colorway may be.

While we’re on the subject of ODs…what do mint/nm Code 1s in desirable colorways generally go for? I’ll just throw Relic and Broken Hearted out there since I know the names of those two.

You obviously dont understand the significance of this particular Code2 and the fact that sniffy recently passed away thus solidifying the fact that the sniffy Code2s will never be made again. However, $150 does seem a bit high, I think $125ish would be more appropriate. If it really is mint with the box and stickers then I assume that you could get away with selling it for the original price or even higher.

Remember, its not what is justified to sell it for, its what people will buy it for.

You obviously don’t understand that I am as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours. I’m sorry that my opinion on a yoyo’s value has caused you such angst.

If someone attempts to sell their Kitteh Code 2 I certainly hope they get $125-150 for it. It’s a cool colorway inspired by a nice guy and was originally sold for an interesting cause. I’m of the opinion that such a thing is unlikely but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me.

I see code 1’s in desirable colorways sell in the $65 range. Plain colors as low as $40

I personally want one and would pay for one.
If it were the brown, I would probably pay ~$100
For the blue, I would easily fork out $125.
