Any ballpark on this dm2? One cap has a concentrated area of stab marks, like somebody put the cap in backwards and the best way they could think of to try and get it out was to stab with a knife into the cap ![]()
How much you you guys think an unknown ringbearer is worth?
Apparently I got this Bandai Hyper Millennium for a friend ~2019 in Japan, I think from a shop in Nakano Broadway. They never opened it and saw I recently re-discovered throwing and asked if I wanted it. I’m not looking to sell or trade, but curious what the “fair market value” is? I really love the colorway (black body, gold ink, silver/metallic cap. Thanks!
Honestly just curious with all the yoyojam inflation these days. Seems the market is dead except for yoyojam, antiyo, spyy and Peaks lol
Edit: @DocPop I got this from Bill, team yoyojam, it was in the box but when I opened it, looks like either he or yourself modded it years ago and reboxed. Do you recall doing any with the white and black response?
I would say pending on the day between $50 and $70, @DocPop has a collector following, would probably need to be on the auction site to get the higher value.
Thank you, falls in line with what I grabbed it for, $60 shipped.
I sold Bolts as stock or modded. The stock ones had black o-rings and a narrower gap. The modded ones were had been sanded on the outside to give a velvety finish. They also had shims and clear flowable silicone for response. Since this isn’t sanded or siliconed, I don’t think this was one of the mods I did.
You do have me wondering about when we changed the gap on the mold. At some point, YYJ widened the gap enough so it no longer needed the shims. I think that happened with the slightly lighter shade of orange (like in your photo). Before that, Bolts had a little bit more red mixed in the orange.
Edit: I found an old email that talks about widening the gap in 2007. So we started doing the wider gaps (no shims needed) in mid 2007.
For some reason I always thought bolts were modded projams. Did they have their own custom mold? @DocPop
I don’t know much about the Projams, the yo-yo wiki agrees with what you are saying, but I have my doubts. The Bolt was a modified Kickside, so that’s the original shape. We narrowed it down to make the Bolt, and then I think the ProJams came later. But I could be wrong.
I think the timeline is Kickside (2005), Bolt (late 2005), and the Projam (seems to be popular around 2010, but maybe they came out sooner). Again, my memory could be wrong, but when we first started designing the Bolt with YYJ, it started off as “lets make a kickside, but narrower”. It’s possible they made that narrower mold and started using it right away for Bolts and Projams at the same time. One other note, Bolts were double o-ring, Projams were starburst.
This gap is thick, and I don’t see shims so it must be from newer mold. Plays fantastic though, and I had my doubts when I saw the gap size but it seriously slays, well done docpop
looks very good to stay in a case
Are you talking about the black with black rims and inscriptions around the rim? I think they call it unseen. Or is that unknown edition a totally different ring bearer? I’m just asking because I have every MK1 ring bearer except for the unseen black with black rims.
Yes, unseen is the same as unknown ringbearer. I’m sure it’s a play on the wearer of the one ring becoming invisible.
Can someone dm me, I need help pricing yyj models im interested in purchasing..
thanks
Projam was first its a starburst response. The Bolt is the never version with dual oring. I have modded some projams into Bolts
Like 40-50? A lot of the yyf models from this era (2.0, protege, tactic, hectic, etc) didn’t hold value super well
Do u still have it?
Kris, I’m not sure who, but someone was LF of Beater. Just a thought. GLWS! ![]()
solid beaters range from $65 to $85 i feel, probably on the higher end of that since they don’t show up often
