My first was a Duncan Gem. The I got a few imperials and then the butterfly. Oh that was nice. Nothing better than a 60’s to 70’s butterfly!

At age 15, my first yoyo was this one. I loved it!

It broke and the string was actually glued to the axle! Hahaha! I got it at a gift shop which made me look up yoyoing. Thus started my journey!

A wooden looper from a colonial village gift shop called “Old Sturbridge Village” (http://www.osv.org/)waaaay back in 3rd grade in like 1990. It had a fixed wooden axle on only one side so it came apart. I used to stick the string in the hole and push the axle over it so it would auto return. I was so lame then!

I have since been back to Old Sturbridge Village as an adult with my kids and found that they do still sell wooden loopers- but they no longer suck. I own 2 and each of my older kids have one as well. :wink:

THE HAYABUSA IS A YOYO FOR ALMOST ANY STYLE OF PLAY IMO.
I USED IT STOCK. YOU DONT NEED TO RECESS IT TO MAKE IT UNRESPONSIVE
