Your beginner set up.

When I got back into yo-yo I knew I wanted to learn unresponsive play only. So, I started with a YYF Protostar.

Pretty quickly I realized that I was playing enough to justify the jump to metal. My first metal: Chico Yo-Yo Heavy Hitter from the well-known yo-yo store in downtown Chico CA.

That yo-yo was way ahead of its time. It was big and heavy but with great speed and maneuverability. It is a combination of a VSNYYC Skywalker and a YYR Sleipnir. It is actually a lot like some of the throws that subsequently came from TP and YYR. When I think back; I could have saved myself big $$ by just sticking with the Heavy Hitter. It is beast.

It has a special place in my heart and bag.

Iā€™m definitely not an experienced player but I stsrtdd with a Dark Magic II with the hntesponsive bearing it came with and 100% string

Not sure what the merit is in sharing your first yoyo, especially if there are better optionsā€¦

Anyways I bought two lyn furys and they were awful. Led to me not throwing for 7 years. Came back in 2014 with a shutter and learned every trick I wanted with ease. Seriously couldnā€™t even do a double or nothing with the furys, I can now of course but if I had something different these last 7 years id be In a much different place now.
