I dm’d on the instagram and there were only colors left. I got two which came with a discount. Paid with PP G&S, everything was very easy. Just slow due to having to dm back and forth. He offered Western Union or PP. I went with PP because I’ve never used Western Union but I know that PP G&S has some pretty good protection in case things go awry.
So uhhh I got excited about this yoyo and bought it…But I don’t know anything about this company and its history. Can anyone educate me? I’m pretty new to this neighborhood. Thanks!
Hello,
Im Hieu, one of their staff. Here is one of their story:
Before we explain why we chose the name 「Bandalo:re」 for this product, allow us to take you back to a time before “Yo-Yo” became the official name it is known by today.
As some of you may not know, between the 17th and the 19th centuries, the term “BANDALORE”was referred to a toy made of wood, a spool or wheel attached to a string. It was an early version of the yo-yo, serving as a precursor to the modern design we recognize today. The user would wind and unwind the strings to perform various tricks, or just simply throw and retrieve the toy. It gained popularity in Europe as a French term for a type of spinning toy before spreading to the United States, where it played a key role in the evolution of the modern yo-yo.
We were deeply inspired by this fusion of history, merging the classic and old-fashioned yo-yo style with our personal favorite modern yo-yo, the “DK” by SF Yoyos, which sparked us the inspiration for this design. And so, with this combination,「Bandalo:re」 was born. A perfect harmony that bridges the evolution between eras, honoring the past while embracing the future, hope to igniting a new wave of creativity and inspiration.
Also, just so you know, the “:re” in the name symbolizes “remake, redo, and refresh.” These are the ideas we wanted to capture both when the yo-yo first appeared and when it’s in your hand.
As far as I know, the brand was founded by a USA player, he fancy about making a brand of yoyos with pleasant and intriguing feel, they may make some comp throws too. All of them are collaborative designed and manufactured by a secret brand that helped duncan and several big brands. The team aims to assemble some players with exquisite and intriguing tech, first in Vietnam, including 2024 Viet Nats champ
This doorknob shape reminds me of a boutique yoyo a shop I worked at carried. It was spun aluminum and if I remember correctly it did not have a seam. This was late 90’s era, pre2k for sure. Anyone one of the old schoolers out there have a twitch in their memory of that?
I have a question. It’s not a complaint. I’m not having any problems with anything anybody said in this thread. And the yo-yo looks pretty neat. It actually looks better than the door knob.
OK, here’s my question. A lot of guys are jumping on this because all yo-yos are a new adventure.
And this one certainly looks interesting.
My question is the OP mentioned that pre-orders will be closing in five hours. Obviously that was a long time ago in this thread.
OK, finally my question> By pre-order… Even though I’m sure there are a couple different interpretations, depending on who you talk to… But this particular instance does pre-order mean the yo-yos haven’t even been made yet? They haven’t been machine. They haven’t been anodized. They haven’t been whatever?
Because until I saw that entry, it made it sound like anybody that ordered one it would be shipped soon after. But if all these interested potential buyers and those that have already purchased should be aware of the actual status of this yo-yo.
So is their inventory ready to ship? Or is the actual status of the product not even an inventory, but being scheduled for production based on the amount of interest?
