If the demand was there, One Drop would do another run. They have not done another un, ergo the demand is not there. If you disagree with that logic, then I would be very interested in seeing the concrete data that refutes it. Or, in the absence of that (since I know it won’t be forthcoming), an explanation from @da5id would suffice. I wouldn’t put any stock in anything else. Nor should anyone else.

People complain about ART putting out tons of stuff people want less than more Grails. I think not every business is driven 100% by demand, or even by any discernible logic. One Drop gets me buying stuff that I’m not even sure I want, so they might not be that motivated by demand. Speculating is fun, isn’t it? Hope they chime in here!

I got mine and don’t need anymore so I don’t care if they run more though I’d let one go for a saturday market! I just don’t see how anyone that has a Top Deck as well as a Fat Tire and Terrarian can say those are anywhere in the universe even close to a Top Deck. I personally think both are novelty yoyos and should’ve faded away a couple years ago.

I don’t know what to tell you if you can look at this thread or the countless Instagram comments always asking for these throws and tell me with a straight face there isn’t a pretty decent amount of demand.
I think you’re actually the best possible example of what’s happening here: just like OD, you are either unable or unwilling to see the demand right in front of you.

I’ll show you my concret data when you show us anything that indicates that OD has data that shows a run Top Decks would not be profitable. I’m pretty sure the Top Deck is the most asked about OD model on any of the yoyo boards. Yoyos are pretty niche. It’s not like tens of thousands of people throw.

If someone stole my Top Decks I would trade every other One Drop I had plus a multi tool and one string to get another Top Deck.

No one is telling OD how to run their business, or saying that we know better. We’re basically just complaining that we have money to spend, and nothing to buy. We want to support One Drop, we all love them, and I’m sure most of us are huge fanboys. But to that same end, if they aren’t selling the stuff we’re fans about then what can we do?
Dioramas sell out within a day. Someone asks them after the drop “is there going to be another run.” and they get “not any time soon.” in response which is them indirectly saying “go to the BST to buy our yoyos”
I just feel like the niche throws should be more limited, and the ones that are sought after should be saturated, not the other way around. Instead the market is saturated with Fat Tires, Deeper States, or One to Ones instead of Kuntosh or Top Decks and Dioramas or Free Solos, etc…
To me, a Top Deck is like a Shutter. It’s like the quintessential modern One Drop that has been praised since it’s release. When I first came back in 2017~ everyone loved the Top Deck.
Here we are, 2022, and people are STILL love the Top Deck, always praising it. So I wonder why it hasn’t been ran into the ground like the niche throws have been. If you count the releases, each of those got near 3-5+ drops in the last 3~ years. Most of the other yoyo designs get 1-2 drops, or none at all.

I was here at YYE when Top Deck was available… I passed it, but grab myself a Kuntosh and almost a VTWO (only good words at the time). Now reading about top deck almost makes me regret.
But MAYBE this topdeck hype will also pass, as passed for VTWO, the small run of sugarglider and probably New recent throws in the future.
But if OD makes a topdeck re-run, I would possibly get it too. . . .
The Top Deck and Kuntosh released in 2016… That’s 6 years ago folks. If One Drop wants to make more that’s cool, but I doubt it’s more pressing to resurrect an old design than to make something new.
And you can’t equate demand with people commenting “I want X” on instagram or even here on the forums. Most of that will not lead to a sale, it’s just people making their online wishlist. If every person followed through and purchased everything they said they wanted… every time… we probably wouldn’t have much inventory left at all.

If there is anything this thread is actually indicative of, its that people are crazy passionate about One Drop yoyos (i say this as I hold my phone one handed because I’m also holding a One Drop yoyo)

True, but the Terrarian and Rebirth are even older, by a year and they have had drops not long ago.

Terrarians keep selling though. Huge drops recently happened here at YYE, especially Green (the only sold out color now lol). I dont get the hate on the Terrarian line. The LT is one of my all time favorite yoyos.

I don’t think it’s hype if a yoyo that was released seven years ago is still the favorite yoyo of a lot of people. I think 90% of the yoyos that were released in 2022 will not even be spoken about in a few years.
