Wilderness PR (Polycarbonate and POM) by W1LD!

Wilderness-PR_Feature
Wilderness PR takes the DNA of the wildly popular Wilderness 7075 and gives it a fresh multi material twist. Built with a 6061 aluminum body and paired with large polycarbonate or POM rims, this model blends performance edge with everyday approachability.

It sits right between categories. More powerful and refined than full plastic. More relaxed and forgiving than full metal.

At just 66 grams, Wilderness PR feels incredibly smooth and surprisingly quick on the string. The lightweight aluminum core keeps the center agile, while the rigid outer rims add stability and spin presence. That contrast between metal and polycarbonate creates a uniquely satisfying feel that responds instantly but never feels harsh.

The extended metal body widens the profile and creates a subtle double rim effect, making it easier to track the yoyo’s position mid combo and maintain precise control. The larger overall body also helps capture the string more consistently, reducing missed mounts and smoothing out complex tricks.

Wilderness-PR-POM-Feature
Wilderness PR POM builds on the success of the Wilderness 7075 and refines the hybrid concept even further. Featuring a 6061 aluminum body paired with large POM rims, this multi material design balances competitive capability with everyday ease of use.

Positioned between full plastic and full metal, PR POM delivers added power and refinement over plastic models while maintaining a smoother, more forgiving feel than traditional metal throws.

Compared to the standard Polycarb version, the POM edition carries slightly more weight, adding a touch of extra presence and stability on the string. The aluminum core keeps the center light and agile, while the dense POM rims reinforce spin strength and control. The combination produces a uniquely smooth, responsive feel that remains quick without feeling overly aggressive.

The extended metal body increases overall width and creates a subtle double rim effect, helping players track the yoyo’s position clearly during fast combinations. The larger catch zone also improves mount consistency, reducing missed tricks and increasing overall confidence.

Interesting that the POM is 5 bucks cheaper. I always thought that POM was the more expensive material. Anyway, they both look really cool!

Glad you pointed that out! Very interesting…

Huh, yeah I thought so too. But I have to say I’m currently more partial to PC because of the strength.

I’ve broken 2 POM yoyos so far….but my PC yoyos seem to shrug off every hard 5a drop they’ve encountered. So I’m thinking maybe the extra is worth it.

Also…this looks like a great 5a yoyo….

I haven’t tried the POM but the PC Wilderness is the best plastic throw since the Speedaholic xx imo. Not quite as good but only by a very narrow margin. It is better suited to 5a play due to the width than the shxx is, however.
