Intercut asks a different question: what happens if you take that same foundation and remove the budget constraint entirely? The answer is a tri-material evolution of Papercut, combining 7075 aluminum, polycarbonate, and stainless steel, with the wide steel ring on the outside and a PC layer sandwiched in the middle to maximize its effect on feel.

On paper, none of that reads as especially impressive, and some players were skeptical going in, but the moment prototypes hit players’ hands, that changed fast. Performance exceeded Papercut outright, and the added character and flow won people over immediately, with one player calling it one of his favorite yo-yos of all time.
