Why are yoyos available online and not offline?

If you go to any mall in a city.we find restaurants, clothing stores, watch store,…why only yo-yos are sold online?

Brick and mortar stores can be quite expensive and don’t have as much traffic as online stores do.

I think it depends on a country and the city where we live.but mostly people buy yoyos online.i think it’s easy to buy it from there as it’s not available offline in most cities and countries.

Yoyos are not as popular as clothes? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Most retail stores aren’t going to devote shelf space to items that aren’t going to sell very quickly. A yoyo that costs more than $10-15 isn’t likely to sell very quickly in most mall stores. That’s why Target and Walmart don’t carry anything expensive, and generally only carry Duncan’s cheap stuff.

There are a handful of stores that will have a bigger and better yoyo selection, but they are relatively rare from what I gather. It is much easier for yoyo companies to sell online where they can benefit from attracting buyers from all over the world.

I agree with you.havent seen them at all.they exist only online.beyblades are available but yoyos are not available.many people still don’t know the modern yoyo. That’s sad.

Your right I have been to a popular toystore in my city many years ago. What I found was Duncan butterfly, profly, proyo. That’s it. No unresponsive yo-yos.thats sad.

FYE in the mall near me has the Yomega Maverick for $29.99 in the impulse-buy section near the registers. It seems like they have had the same amount there for the last six months.

I wonder if FYE is regretting stocking the Maverick. I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time? :flushed:

They probably regret their whole business model at this point since the majority of people stream their entertainment. Most music/video stores in my area are completely gone. The stores limp by, and the online store does mediocre business I would bet. Stocking a couple yoyos is only one drop in the bucket of disaster. I used to have an FYE near me, and id see some of the same CDs not getting bought for years until they finally went under.

Just recently I went out to do some shopping, and one of the items on my list was a good ole Duncan Butterfly. Went to Target. Nothing. Went to Wal-Mart. Nothing. Third time was the charm, as another local Wal-Mart finally had some yoyos in stock. I had to browse the toy section on a Saturday as a full grown adult with no children next to me. It felt weird, but I got what I wanted. It really is a shame, but yoyos really arent promoted anymore, and I bet a lot of kids today either don’t know of them other than in reference, or just arent interested.

Indeed some excellent advice on that is here

I thought Yomega stopped making yoyos. They used to have Raiders and the Alpha Wing but I haven’t seen them there in 2 years. I just assumed companies like FYE bought up big lots of stuff Yomega was getting rid of. If the Maverick ever gets marked down under $10 I’d be willing to try one even though some people say they’re not really that good but…whatever…

Yomega still lists the Raider on their website.

if I am not wrong Yomega does not have any new yoyos. they don’t have that designs that wow the audience.

You browsed a toy section of a store ‘as a full grown adult with no children next to you’?

I’ve done some Bold things over the years.

I tore the S off Supermans’ top.

I forced Dracula to put on board shorts, Vans and a tank top and go out into the sun.

I went back in time and challenged an Egyptian Pharaoh to a half court race to 10.

But I Never, ever even, almost felt Bold enough(as a full grown adult) to browse a toy section ‘alone’.

That is Level 8 badness.

I love toy aisles and don’t care who sees me. The Walmart near me sold 8 Pro Zs. So 8 people in my area have a decent yoyo they can learn beginner to intermediate on…
