Wholesale orders from YYF.

I’ve been in contact with YYF because I want to start selling their products in Puerto Rico and I gave them my full address already and all which is what they asked for after mailing back and forth about prices and such.

When do I have to pay them and when will they ship the merchandise?

That sounds pretty difficult and quite time consuming.

Well, I don’t know about the law in Puerto Rico, but I’d say you’d need the following:
A business license, and perhaps a DBA/fictitious business name.
A resellers permit/license.

Based on the quantities you want, YYF may have pricing tiers. Once YYF has THEIR money, you can sell it for whatever you want to, including TOO high, TOO low(at a loss) or at their suggested price or price match withother sites or whatever method you want.

There are often rules, such as a MAP price(minimum advertised price) and list price.

No offense, but if I were YYF, especially with a new distributor/dealer, I’d want to be paid up front in FULL for merchandise to be received. After that, they might see about Net30 terms. They may also wish to do a minor background check, mostly in the form of a credit check and credit history.

They aren’t going to just ship a bunch of boxes.

You should pay them first because they aren’t just going to ship boxes to whoever say’s they want to distribute merchandise.
Then when you payed them they will ship it out.

Generally, for international orders, and especially for “new” clients, most yoyo companies require full upfront payment.

You could do a wire transfer, but this can be expensive, much better to have them charge your credit card.

Once payment has been made, items are usually shipped within a few days.

I have found correspondence with YYF to be not particularly clear (if they reply at all).

That is for YoYoFactory to answer and not really something to discuss on a forum. They are playing some catch up after being away in Europe at the European YoYo championships. If they started discussion I’m sure they will reply.
