My first proper YoYo

I have just recently bought my first proper YoYo after some searching for the best, not too expensive options.

I ended up getting a YoYo Factory Whip, from a retailer in Vancouver, BC, it came to $31 Canadian with shipping, but around $30 seems to be the lowest price for a proper yoyo, sometimes ordering from the states could be worse, like $40 USD which is significantly more in Canadian.

I’m closer to east coast Canada, so it may take a few days to a week to get to me, but in the mean time, I do have a wooden toy, yo yo that I guess I can learn basic throwing with, to not waste time.

I was debating between the Whip, and a Yomega Fireball. The fireball I could get off of amazon for $18 and it could arrive tomorrow with prime shipping, but there is no butterfly shape, and it is transaxle, where as the Whip is butterfly shaped, and has a ball bearing. So I decided to go for the better quality option, and wait and pay a bit more.

The current string on my wooden toy yoyo goes up to my crotch, so its a little short for me, I know when I get the Whip in, to adjust the string so it goes up to my belly button instead, it needs to be a little longer.

Whip is a decent option for a beginner budget yoyo. Though $30 still seems a bit steep for one.

If Amazon is really your only option, Magic Yoyo makes solid entry-level metal yoyos.

The $31 is with the shipping and tax included as a total price. The whip itself was $14.95.

The shipping was $15.

I would honestly search for someone on here selling throws that lives in Canada. That’s a lot of money for a whip.
