The G&E 3 was my fave colorway and even with its vibe issues I absolutely loved †hat yoyo.

I would say my list could go on, longer than one of my posts…..
But we won’t go there…
I’ve had so many hundreds and hundreds of yo-yos over the decades>
But one yoyo(the 1) yo-yo, that I personally feel was and still is, the yo-yo Humanity needs, is the Oxy Hyperion.
Not only did Carlo hit the ball out of the Park, waaaay before it’s time, but I’m still looking to the Sky for more to come to Earth.
Before Carlo came out with the Hyperion, I don’t know whether: He was eating Magic mushrooms or He found a message in a bottle from Einstein or maybe rubbed a Magic lamp and got one Wish or just had an Epiphany and decided to knock everybody out of their shoes, just so they could experience Weightlessness?
We will never know…
But I remember waaay back then, when I threw mine for the very first time, I fully understood the true value of saying, ‘Today is a really Good day’.
Wether Carlo was a mastermind, yo-yo designer or just got lucky, the reward was for those lucky enough to end up with one
A poker player once told me that he’d rather be lucky than good any day.
I asked him that sounded kind of funny. Why would you rather be lucky than good?
He said very simple… A good poker player besides occasionally needing a good bluff, more often needs good cards to start the ball rolling.
On the other hand, a lucky poker player, can be lucky and draw good cards or get dealt good cards any day of the week.
A good card player with a bad hand will come in second to a lucky player dealt a royal flush.
Personally, I would rather be good than lucky.
And I think when Carlyle Menon designed and released the Hyperion, he was really good.
The fact that I ended up with one, had nothing to do with being good. It had everything to do with me being lucky.
Because way back when that sucker was released, if I remember correctly, it was around $450 bucks, thereabouts? That’s a big chunk of change to bet on a handful of titanium. One of the best winning bets I ever made if not the best.

I was really hoping they’d re-release the Handquake 1.4b, which was one of my most cherished yo-yos (mine was stolen in 2002). The did a re-release, but it was an entirely different yo-yo that didn’t feel like a Handquake to me. I’m still hoping for a slim and close-to-the-original-but-slightly-better Handquake.
