What yo-yo is recomended for me?

Could someone recommend me a yo-yo, sorry if I seem picky I just want to get a good yo-yo. I am just going to state my preferences on the yo-yo, any help would be appreciated.

  1. I am willing to spend around $10.00 to $20.00 if it is only a tiny bit more or less it will be ok.
  2. I want to be able to do string tricks like braintwister, and be able to bind.
  3. I do not want to modify it.
  4. I want it to sleep longer than an unmodified Fast 201.
  5. I prefer not to have to replace the response, or maybe not as much as friction stickers.

legacy is great it cost 22 dollars and a good yoyo with silicone response but you need to be able to bind and spin times are great i use to get around 1 min when i first got it

I gues any of the YoYoJam plastics would be ok.

The Plastic grind machine is great as well, but might be too expensive.

The YoYoJam pastics will star responsive, but break in, and the responce lasts about forever, and you could get O-Rings in a hardware store if they ware out.

If you don’t want responsiveness out of the box, try the Velocity or Legacy, they are both great yoyos.

So the list:

KickSide
Lyn Fury
Speed Maker
Journey (I don’t really reccomend this one)
Velocity
Legacy

It is up to you, flip coins in a cool way to choose between 6, or just get the one that looks the coolest

i totally agree with you but when he gets better he is gonna want an unreponsive yoyo with good spin times and the legacy can get you far it got me to expert part 2 and a little bit of master

I recommend a Lyn Fury. It’s well within your price range and it’s exactly what you want it to be. It is great for beginning string tricks and learning how to bind. Not to mention that it’s double o-ring response lasts FOREVER! You can even buy a few extra packs of string and stay in your budget.

Any of those are good options. I personally like the Journey and I can use it for several master level tricks. Also, if you can find somebody selling a Spinfaktor HG on the BST’s, I would highly highly recommend that. It’s very durable and relatively cheap, but it can still take you very very far in yoyoing.

I think you should wait for Die Nasty.

Legacy, PGM, Velocity. Those would be mine.

If you can buy off of the BST…

You should definitely get an Unstacked PGM.
It outperforms the Stacked version and is currently one of my favorite throws.

If you can’t buy off of the BST…

I would recommend a Lyn Fury and some strings.
This is a great yoyo and you can even replace the O-Rings with Flowable Silicone if you don’t like them.

I would say buy a Lyn Fury. It plays very well, and it’s a good 5A yoyo! When you feel it is too responsive for you, just add silicone o-rings or flowable silicone.

I prefer my Kickside over my Lyn Fury. I’m not a big fan of a hybrid response but it binds tight and once broken in (2-3 days if you throw it a lot) it becomes unresponsive. You can’t go wrong with either though.

try a legacy yoyo by yoyojam its a plastic version of the dark magic

i would go with the lyn fury. it is a great beginner yoyo and will take you very far.

I recomend a plastic grind machine but its thirty +shipping. but if thats too much money i guess a good begginer and intermediate yoyo would be a shinwoo phantom. its 10 +shipping but its responsive.so i guess best a freehand.ok bye

A PGM is a great throw! I learned to bind with it and it got me to more advanced tricks.

I say legacy… If you can bind then you can throw a legacy…

You wont be able to do some tricks like pop the clutch and stop and go but you can go pretty far…
The Legacy is one of my favorite throws… I can do skin the gerbil and what not… I have great spin times and I’ve never had to mod it… I havn’t even cleaned the bearing… Its stock and such a great player…

Its $22.50 and $27.50 after the $5 shipping… So its a little over your budget but so worth it…

But you have to replace the response for the PGM.
Anyway, here is a buying guide I made to help you with your entire first purchase:

Well, I want to look into buying metals. What now?

Well, there are several good all-metal YoYo Manufacturers out there. First, lets knock down the ones here at YoYoExpert. Remember, most metal yoyos will be more expensive than the other ones, simply because of their amazing quality.

YoYoFactory is a wonderful company that makes many high quality yoyos fit to the players preference.

This yoyo has been considered one of the best yoyos in the market today. The YoYoFactory 888 is still a leading yoyo in competitions as well: http://yoyoexpert.com/product/yoyofactory/888/

Darn…I wanted a metal that didn’t destroy my wallet. Oh, where could I find such a thing?
Don’t worry - We got ya’ covered 8)

YoYoFactory Made a new line of metal yoyos called the FundaMETAL line, a series of high preforming metal yoyos that did not break your bank.

Witness the first yoyo for this line, the Dv888! http://yoyoexpert.com/product/yoyofactory/dv888/

There is also the One-Drop M1 as well.
Anyway, listing links and pictures to all the metal yoyo manufactures would be very tedious, so here is a list of the first that spring to mind:

YoYoJam
Caribou Lodge YoYo Works (CLYW)
YoYoFactory
One-Drop
H-Spin
IloveYoYo (ILYY)
Anti-Yo
SPYY
Strings, Lube, and Bearings

Don’t forget - You will always need string. Usually, there are many different varieties of string. You will first notice about the string is the material. In most occasions, cotton will be a horrible choice for you because it breaks easily and doesn’t last as long. We recommend you use either 100% Polyester Strings, or 50% Cotton and 50% Polyester string. They last longer, and are better for doing the new style of complex string tricks shown here at YoYoExpert. If you want to buy string, check here: http://yoyoexpert.com/product/expert/string/
Lube is not as needed, but is a good edition to have. If you want professional YoYo Lube, try some YoYoJam lube. If you want less response on your yoyo, use Thin Lube, however if you want more response, use Thick Lube.

Thin Lube: http://yoyoexpert.com/product/yoyojam/thin-lube/
