By advanced I mean tricks that are pretty long to complete like spirit bomb or rancid milk. Is there one to do first that helps with others or is it all personal preference?
difficulty is so relative it really is just personal preference. if you see something you like, give it a shot. if it doesn’t go well don’t hesitate to ask for help. if it still doesn’t go well or becomes frustrating or not fun, set it aside and work on something new, come back to it another time. you’ll be surprised how often you’ll circle back to a trick and nail it and go why’d this even give me trouble before. as long as you keep learning something you’ll keep moving forward. if you want a good starting point hop in the taw thread and see if anything looks interesting. they should be around the lvl you’re looking for
I learned a lot from Lucas deckers Lazerbeam trick:
Some of the elements are really good starting point for other tricks.
Spirit Bomb is a really good one to get comfortable with. Understanding the wrist mount is a base for a lot of stuff.
Rancid Milk will come later.
Definitely all personal preference. I recommend just learning as much as you can. I highly recommend learning black hops bc it teaches so much about string management on the hands. It is also simple in construction but mechanically challenging so it is easy to remember. The lessons it teaches apply to so so so many other tricks.
Trick-a-week is also a fantastic resource for seeing what other tricks are out there and there are people in the thread that are glad to help if you get stuck and have any questions.

i second spirit bomb, its worth knowing, & looks a little harder than it is in my opinion
I think when it comes to asking about long tricks, a good first one would be something where you can practice several different steps and then tie them together yk? But I’m not sure what is considered “advanced” cuz like I wouldn’t consider rancid milk advanced but it’s kinda long. Personally tho I’d say this trick is pretty sick as it’s long but teaches a lot of key elements which is what it sounds like you’re looking for. The beginning part you could practice and the second half that starts in a double or nothing you could practice on its own too. Lmk if it’s too hard tho and I’ll see if I can find an easier trick
This thread looks great, thanks.
Spirt Bomb it was my 1st I enjoy all iterations and tricks that start with have in the middle or end with any variation of Spirt Bomb.
Superman was the top trick I thought, when I started. When I was able to hit Superman I was on cloud 9 have not come down… until I started to try and lean the… Beef Hook… but I learned it and was on cloud 9 again until…. It is how it tends to go
I think this one is too hard for my current skill level.
I support all mentions of spirit bomb but black hops is also a goated trick! That being said difficulty is relative, but both of these tricks constitute a bridge into “advanced” play. Other suggestions if you really want to challenge yourself are breathe, tsunami bomb and superman.
Double or nothing
