I’m about a month into my yoyoing journey and here’s what I’ve learned so far in the past month (at the start of which the only thing I knew how to do was a front style sleeper, rock the cradle, and forward pass with a responsive yoyo).
Basic front style bind
Split bottom mount
Front side undermount
Brain twister
Mach-5
Barrel rolls
Split the atom
Zipper
Breakaway throw
Trapeze
Basic side style bind
1.5 mount (still learning, not yet consistent)
Double or nothing (still learning, not yet consistent)
The brother (still learning, not yet consistent)
Boingy Boing (not consistent at all, but got it once or twice)
Yeah I can’t get the flow right
Same with boing e boing, I just can’t get the rythm right even tho I can do spirit bomb and kamikazee and stuff
I don’t practice as much as I should though, so that’s probably why
Have a really good grasp of exactly the mounts you want to land in and try not to overthink it. Just hop and cross, hop and uncross. Play with the height the Yoyo reaches for the uncross. Stay on plane. If you’re landing it that’s good just keep doing it and thinking about what went wrong when it doesn’t work.
id say just start with getting the regular chopstick mount down,
then do chopsticks switch and get i dialed af
(the yotricks video is really good)
then come back to wax on wax off,
its really helped me, and i feel im getting closer now, just struggling with the re entering chopsticks after exiting it while keeping the NTH in a good open position
I also found using a smaller diameter yoyo helpful at first
particualry the one drop rebirth which I think is 3 or 4 mm smaller diameter than a normal yoyo
I used to be terrible at chopsticks. One thing that helped me was focusing on keeping the fingers in a nice C shape and not letting them straighten too much into an L shape. Using smaller yoyos at first definitely helps.
I just tied to learn this. The rejection seems to be the hardest part. I can do all individually but getting that rejection to tie it together is rough
There is a Takeshi version in which he does a flip between reverse brent stole and the ninja vanish and that can help as it can get the yoyo to the middle of the string. I remember watching a @hobbygodtutorial where he also mentioned getting the yoyo in the middle can get you enough slack for ninja vanish. I am not perfect at this combo but have a better experience when using thick string and a large yoyo.
