What throw do you main?

Since release, my main’s been my Deepest States (I rotate between the 2 that I have, depending on my mood. On the fixie end of the spectrum, I tend to gravitate a lot toward my BC Apollo and my Jive. Prior to owning a Deepest State, my Deep and Deeper had been my mains, and the Deeper being the only yoyo I took with me on vacation.

Sorry 1a throws, you’ve been kinda just existing but with those I tend to rotate out through several throws, making it hard to really “main”…My Stryker tends to be one that I keep grabbing.

Can this title be rewritten in proper English please?

Seriously, “what throw do you main?” How does that make any sense to anyone? Rewriting this in proper English is: '“What is your main throw”?” has just as many words as well as syllables. So what is the purpose of making a salad out of the sentence? Just to sound like a hipster? It sounds more like an improper translation from Japanese.

I use my Daytona more than anything else. If I could only keep one I think that this would be it. It’s versatile, has great spin time, and is surprisingly stable considering how slim it is. It’s easy to take along in a pocket and can take some hits too.

To answer your question, it comes from the culture of online gaming

In that case it would be: ‘Which character/class do you main?’

someone might repsond, “I main healer”

yes it’s bad grammar, but the OP here didn’t invent the practice.

hope that helps!

GET DUNKED ON OLD MAN

I’m just kidding, love you geezer.

I think it’s derived from the competitive fighting game scene, as in “which fighter do you manly use?”; when discussing the game and strategies that gets shortened down to “who you ‘main’?”

My ‘main’ throw is the C3 Radius Ti. I do not know why I just love this yo-yo so much. But to me it is a really neutral, super high performing yo-yo that is great for learning because of its predictability, versatility, speed, maneuverability and spin time/stability. It is just great at everything ending in ‘ty’

I’ve heard this term before, primarily in the Smash Bros community…I have heard folks say “I main Pikachu or Samus or…” Smash Bros was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread.

Do you like the new or old version of the speedaholic xx more? Is it noticeably that much different?

The 2025 version are far superior. C3 changed up the profile of it so it has faster and stronger spin times. They took the finger dimple from the fx, so finger spins are way better on it, added a thumb grind lip. While the previous versions aren’t bad there is a big change in feel and power of the new gen xx
