My pet peeve is having yoyo.come in the package with a bad bearing and string an the yoyo performs underpar like it needs a new pairing of parts. When the user experience isn’t exceptional and excited with their first handling of the yoyo.it usually means they will less thrilled with yoyoing. I like personally getting a yoyo I can be wowed with an want to use regularly an say that’s a good performer for me.

Sadly especially with over seas shipping you could test a yoyo put it in a box and ship it and the bearing feel off on the other end. Many places test in bulk seal the box and ship when ordered meaning box could sit for weeks or months and while bearing should be fine the lubricant in it may dry up over time or settle and need to be “broken in” before it plays right.
Only way to get an exceptional experience is for the seller to be local to your locality and test the yoyo right before they send it your way. Otherwise too many factors at play like humidity differences to account for.

Knots. Though as I become more experienced knots don’t happen nearly as often. It is the most frustrating thing to damper a session though. That and bearings needing cleaned.

My biggest pet peeve is dumb. When I buy a used throw and it doesn’t come with a string I usually grumble to myself. It’s silly because I have more string than I could use in my life and keep buying string and I was probably going to change the string anyway so what’s my problem really? But we don’t have time to psychoanalyze me.

Oh I have the opposite! I wish companies would stop with the tiny baggies with 1 string. Im not gonna use it. Its unnecessarily wasteful. I have a gazillion tiny baggies of a single string.

On the inverse done people get the ick if they get a yoyo on BST they has a used string.

Im the opposite! I rather my yoyo come naked. BST or new, unless its like a collab (deepest state with the stay gold nitro for example) i couldn’t care less for the string. Sure sometimes its great like the g2 zipline strings, but more often than not its just a regular bulk string, I dont need any more of it.
