What is the most versatile yoyo you have?
By versatile, I mean a yoyo that being powerful and comfortable, can also do most types of tricks very well, including tech, speed playing, most types of grinds, horizontal, whips, slacks, finger spins, etc. Mine I think its the wide angle shutter.
I think I’d have to go with the Duality by Damian Puckett. It’s a power-house disguised as a bimetal organic yoyo.
Like many, sometimes I think about selling all my yoyos and keep only one, a very versatile yoyo that can do it all.
Hmmmm. Tough one. Either VTWO or Top Deck.
The VTWO is also a good contender, but the Top decks I have are not good for grinds due to the pyramatte finish.
Gravity Oops misread what versatility you were referring to. MARKMONT Classic has it all… I’m really over fingerspins…so
I second the Wide Angle! It seems to make almost every trick easier and is a great all-rounder.
It’s not perfect though. I’d prefer a heavier blast finish like the K.O. has, and also the Wangle is a little bit TOO wide for my hand, although I realize that it’s width is a contributing factor to why it’s so good at everything.
If I had to keep only one yoyo, it would probably be my JDS Shutter or Speedaholic MAX as they are close to the Wangle in terms of versatility but are a bit narrower.

As much as I love my One Drops, the pyramatte finish doesn’t handle grinds too well and I can’t really finger spin with any of them. I need to get a blasted OD one of these days…
For this reason, my pick for versatility is the Yoyofriends Sync. The finish is great for grinds, it can finger spin, and it’s just overall very balanced. It’s also pretty comfy in the hand and binds are nice and tight.
Movement and dbearing 5050.
I never tried a VTWO but my Top Deck…. If I can’t do something on another yoyo or am I just having lousy throw session and everything just turns out lousy - I pick up my Top Deck and land everything smoothly and feel so happy I took up throwing.
The new iCEBERG is a solid one. Honestly so is the Shooting Star. Comfy, pleasantly floaty, powerful, and capable of anything I throw at them. Not my favorites, though.
Probably not a super popular one, but for me it’s the a/rt Garret. It’s grown on me a lot since I got it. Although I prefer organics, it’s just as comfortable as any organic I own due to the soft edges. It has a sorta light, floaty feeling while having just enough power/stability to get through longer tricks. It strikes a good balance, and has a unique feeling in my opinion.
AnTiThesis has been unstoppable. At least as far as the BS I can perform.
Yoyopalace Journey, very comfy, stable, fast and somewhat floaty too.
I agree. It was a tough decision between the wa shutter and the sync. I choosed the wa shutter because it is wider and easier to land tricks. But the blast finish is better on the sync. My final list included the wa shutter, the sync and the yyf Bind. The Bind is great for most tricks, but it is not very confortable when it lands.
The shooting star is may favourite plastic. iYoyo makes great throws. I also love the pyro x, its a great organic at a good price.

Hopefully I’ll get to play mine someday. It was due to be delivered on December 20th and this was after I was shipped the Classic, by mistake.
