It’s name is very deceiving, lol. Flint nitrogen treatment bearing tool. You can’t tell me that doesn’t sound cool

That’s just one of many ways of finishing metal to strengthen and protect it from wear and the elements depending on applications it’s used for.
Similar to this process.
Sounds fancy but it’s like reading coatings on drill bits. They technically serve a purpose but in this case it really doesn’t matter it if was gold plated or whatever else since it’s just used as a pry and wiggle tool to remove a bearing.
