Used the bearing from my Haymaker and added Alphaline—what a difference! Top Deck is gaining steam.

Unengraved 1st run 7075 Majesty with signature General yo blast. There was a lot of back and forth ten years ago about whether the 7075 or 6061 version was better. I’ve tried both and I’m team 7075.

I could be wrong but I had an og badass green and grey from back then and if I remember correctly the only 7075 majesty’s were purple mountain majesty’s. I’m sure ernie or someone here can confirm that

I’ve always felt like the Top Deck had the most extreme difference between a flat and a concave bearing compared to my other throws. It’s like turning on cheat codes.

Correct, that model was the only commercially sold production 7075 model. This one is a preproduction 7075 model sold outside of retail stores. It is insanely good.

So was the 6061. It was so smooth on the string. Thank you for the history. :sunglasses:

How does the allow make a difference? Is it weight or something else?

Honestly, I’m probably about to talk out my butt here, but I’ll give it a whirl and let someone else shame me with their knowledge, lol.

So the materials themselves have different density with 7075 being more dense and weighing more. With it being more dense, it can withstand damage a tiny bit better.

Ernie made tiny tweaks to ensure that the 7075 and 6061 versions of the Majesty were as close as possible in shape with still weighing the exact same.

Some thought there was a tiny feel that made the 7075 version better, some felt the 6061 was a tiny bit better, and others said they felt the same and it was stupid to spend anytime discussing it.

The 6061 I had was polished and the 7075 has the same blast as the 5 star V2. The 7075 sleeps longer in my opinion. And the 7075 being a bit more durable is nice. Those factors give it the edge in my opinion.

Thank you for the insight. I have the two different versions of the MiJo.

I’m not good enough to notice a difference. I mostly play the original. It is great either way.

Sounds good. The stronger 7075 can have thinner walls than the 6061 and still have the same weight. I always wished the majesty was a hair lighter, but that’s just my two pennies

Panorama today

Thought I’d try some different SE’s and I realized that I haven’t tried spikes with it before. Turns out, it feels pretty great with a bit of the extra weight.

Same. 7075 version mops the floor with the other one IMO.

There were def more than just those, here’s mine that came in a box made by Ernie’s dad.

One of my most special throws. And until I got back into the hobby, the most I paid new for a yoyo.

Honestly I’ve been throwing the Fulvia for the last three or so days almost exclusively.
