Free Solo is back in the rotation! It’s perfect with Sochi XL.

Also got a 2.0 today, so I’ve been throwing it, too

5A continues. I’ve got Red Windmill but need to get more consistent. I’m still clueless on Bee Sting.

An interesting way to track progress/humble brag. The last time I played with this thing a couple months ago I was trying to get through rewind but couldn’t keep it going through the loops without dying. Tonight I got it through the loops a handful of times tonight and got the fly away dismount. Kinda hyped on that.

My neighbor was doing some 5a with his Freehand (unresponsive) and I mentioned that I never threw one before so he took off the cw and handed it to me. Wow, I did not think I’d like it at all but it’s got a pretty nice solid feel and a nice weight without feeling heavy.

Please tell me that’s a counterweight for RCS Gamer Lite.

What intrigued me back in March of 2022 was the transparent design to do a Peak Clone with the first model the 54.5mm MoNo. As the story unfolded though the At Design Lab IG this model was also influenced by the Hit Man. In play it defiantly feels more like Hit Man than Peak as the profile is more geared to Trapeze Width than a pure Highwall. The second release in August of 2022 was the 50mm mono and is probably one of the better playing 50s I have in my personal collection, has a great weight but still feels retro, this one is really good if you like bigger minis. Big MONO at 56.5mm from December was a tribute to Dark Magic but retaining the series aesthetic, it plays more like a denser Creep with more Trapeze Width and stability. The latest release is Mono at 52.5mm and it really has a similar feel to The END 2 7068 and Eetsit being base on the Night Moves 5, still getting to know this one, but its really comfortable. The Finish on all of the series is also a throw back to heavy blasted throws but is not so aggressive that it wears string prematurely in my experience over the year. Overall its been a fun journey in design and on how much just small millimeter adjustments have effects to play feel even though they all share similar design elements, 2mm can make a big difference and makes for a completely different yoyo. Its fun now to play them all back to back. As a side note I’m also a fam of 21mm pads over the 19mm standard.

An interesting tidbit to add to this - the original peak was conceived as a metal Hitman, as documented by the Peak history thread which is now impossible to find on yoyonation (RIP)

I drew my own “peak” as a design analysis back in 2020. It’s a fun shape to look at!

The CAD cross section was actually available on that old yoyonation thread, too.

Just pitching this but and MK1 x CLYW peak would be great @MarkD

They don’t need me to make a new peak. They already have the CAD files for all the versions. Pretty sure they’re making a plastic peak w/ Jeff Pang, too.

Is this the one? (Before my yoyo time.)
