Apparently “Otamajakushi” is the Japanese word for Tadpole - thus the “Otama” part of the instrument’s name.

so- i bought some sideeffscts from @ryanmcg (already a good deal in it self) and he asked if I wanted some bearings. of course I said yes, he said here’s some 10ball ctx’s. get my package and its got a bunch of goodies inside, side effects and string and bearings. but he noticed he sent the “incorrect” 8 ball CT. then proceeds to send me another package. international shipping mind you, with a bunch of more string, 3-10ball CTX’s and a ceramic hybrid bearing!

My 15 minute impression is excellent! I got to throw one of these at a club meet back in the beginning of the month and I ordered it before I left the meet because I enjoyed it so much.
The Spright is light(duh?), stability is UNREAL, speed is obscene, and the binds are tight! The blast is very nice for grinds and I personally find the aesthetics extraordinarily impressive and pleasing. I’ve got it strung up with my go to default Zipline Skyline III string.
I ran through all my [honestly beginner level] tech tricks with absolute ease, even when I pushed through faster than my normal speed the Spright stayed on plane, refusing to tilt.
Next thing I knew I was just bobbin to the beat and freestyling…then I just happened upon a new (new to me at least) weird backwards chopstocks element which proved to be a great entrance into a combo I’ve been putting together.
The Spright sparks joy and creativity…just make sure you do plenty of tricks before binding as the smoothness and lightweight feeling can be deceiving, RIP my knuckles!
