What did you get in the mail today? 2021

look, honestly instead, I have to tell you that it amazed me and a lot, I explain why.
The goal was to buy a yoyo to, basically (since I learned something years ago then quit after shredding a Die-Nasty into three pieces), start dropping in 5A, so I needed an object to mistreat with a good chance to destroy it again. … essential requirement therefore, the lowest price ever and, so far we have … $ 3.10 + $ 2.12 shipping.
Clearly my expectations were very low but, in reality I found myself on my hands a yoyo that, without infamy and without praise, his work does, has a well distributed weight, a good kk bearing, a really remarkable spinning for being a plastic yoyo (for example, a One Star is much worse from this point of view), it is also quite stable in the sense that as long as it has good laps it remains immobile as on a track, when it starts to slow down it goes a little on its own. only real flaw, the silicone pads … bad, sometimes it comes back sometimes not … I immediately siliconed it with liquid silicone and the problem was solved.
So in the end for the shopping, his money overwhelms them, and for this reason I also took another … it can be a good object to let some curious person try for the first time … but I repeat, it is not then so bad, if it ever happens to you to use one again, give it a little more confidence, then of course, it remains a plastic yoyo …

p.s. another “defect”, to grab the yoyo for the hubstacks, the graphics on the rim are not exactly the best, you can do it but you have to be very precise to find the center.

Yep, same here. I even tried two of them, just in case the first one was a dud. Both were trash.

Which ones are the freehand rims?

This is interesting, I don’t know what changes they have made to the site but for all the drops I have been to previously, the stock of yoyos was split evenly between the zoo members and the public release on the site itself, not the “other retailer drop” being the second chance for zoo members. Most of the releases I have been to have been drops exclusive to the MFD site and no other retailers would get the yoyos, so maybe that makes a difference since there isn’t an “other retailer drop” to provide a second chance for the zoo members to get in on. My best example would be to bring up the Omnibus 2017 drop as that is the most recent drop I have participated in. As mentioned above, the 10 boxes of Omnibus 2017 was split evenly between the zoo members and the public. In addition to that, the yoyos dropped were also split evenly because I have seen all the yoyos being sold out on the zoo page, but then were back in stock on the public release page.

What’s weird or different about it? I feel like you have a good idea of what you like and dislike in a 0A yoyo. The D bearing seemed like a strange choice to me because of the bigger gap width, and the weight on the non-lite model seemed so heavy. I haven’t really seen anybody talk about how the respawns play, but I have seen a couple people say they enjoy it.

The thinner rings at the top center, one set in white (on the left) is 2 grams each, and one set in blue (on the right) is 3 grams each.

I didn’t get TOO much time with it today, but I do have an original as well for comparison. Planning on giving my $0.04 (two cents for each :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) once I can get like at least 30 minutes on each back to back. Stay tuned!

I have had a respawn, respawn lite, Daytripper, weekender, and a few wood yo-yos and I have posted about the respawns on these forums before. Respawn and respawn lite feel like heavy little winged yo-yos on the string compared to other responsives. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely noticeable when you have other lighter and snappier responsives to compare them to. Honestly I prefer the respawn as an unresponsive, just take 1 pad out and clean the bearing. It’s great like that :ok_hand:

When the shipping info says, ‘Out for delivery/7:am’ that simply means it has been loaded on the truck/Jeep/hovercraft/drone…. Whatever…

Sometimes the Mail carrier does more than one route.

Sometimes the Mail carrier is just slooooooow…

In my area, the Mail often comes in different vehicles, depending on what it is. Paper bills, small jet packs and adverts come in one truck and packages are delivered by another worker.
I have received letters at 11 in the morning and packages at 9 at night. The guy come up the 15 steps to my porch wearing a headlamp🙀

One thing you can be sure of. Having a package on the truck at 7 in the morning, doesn’t necessarily mean your address is at the beginning of his route for the day. Your package may get a scenic tour of the whole town until the carrier finally gets to your house.

…And, if one of the route carriers calls in sick, sometimes the Supervisor divides that carriers route to two or three other carriers. So they even have more of a load.

I’ve had packages ‘out for delivery’ ALL DAY into night and if it gets too late(like after 9pm) the carrier will just return to the station with my package(and probably others) and then deliver the next day.

I have had that happen several times in the last few years. When I call the station and give them the tracking number, they tell me there is a note stating’ Carrier attempted to deliver, but could not gain access to the property’(locked gate, dangerous looking dog, no address on house, etc).
Which is total bull…. But the carrier has to enter some couldn’t deliver because, code.

Funny thing is I have lived at the same location since 1989. My address is clearly visible on the: curb, on the column to the left coming up the steps, and on the house to the right of the Mailbox.
….And there is No gate. And there is no dog. And, I live in a very safe part of town.

Bottom line is simple. Every item on the truck, out for delivery, will be on the truck until they finally get to your house. And if on a certain day, your house is towards the end of the carriers route, it might even take longer than 5 hours to get there.

USPS is actually dependable, getting packages to their final destinations>>>> Eventually.

Eventually basically means ‘not necessarily when you want it to get there’.

Updated today… here is an example. Out for delivery at 11am… will be delivered by 8:45pm🙀.

When I checked the page this morning, it said will be delivered between 10am and 2am.

Then, around 1with no truck in sight, I checked the page again and it had been updated to ‘by 8:45pm’. Glad I wasn’t holding my breath, lol

So far I’m really liking it. Its so different than my other responsive throws. My only complaint is the deshielded bearing loses grease quicker than I’d like

out of pure curiosity, what are your considerations that led you to call them garbage?
Thank you

All correct, for sure. Truthfully, it is amazing to me how reliable the USPS is. I’ll never understand how they make it all work. We’ve had the same mail dude for six or eight years now. Most days you could almost set your watch by him; 1:15 or 1:30, he’s there. Without fail, rain, sleet, snow, hail, all that. Except that day - turns out he was on vacation for a couple days. The replacement dude got there about 6:45 that night. If he was just bringing our monthly bills, no problem. But when there is a new toy involved, it’s a whole 'nother level of frustration. I may be old, but I still love my toys!

OK! So I had some time with each this morning. I agree with @Dude0909 as far as 0a play is concerned (probably won’t go unresponsive on it, as they are both too light for me in that area). They both play a little heavy and I love it. @bheinz63 is also correct that the de-shielded bearing does lose grease quickly. I do notice that the OG gives a little more of a ‘thump’ on the return (probably because of the weight? I ain’t no scientist!). The Lite is a little easier to manage on regens and dump trucks, but the OG keeps its spin longer so more 1/0a crossover is possible. Since I want to play them like fixies, my preference leans toward the Lite.

I’d be very curious to see how the Lite plays with one of @jeduardo and ZGRT’s MiJo D-Blanks up in it! PM me if I can buy one of your extras off of you!

Thanks for the write up! Outside of G2 flagships like the Banshee, all of their models are so mysterious to me since I see so little about them. I hadn’t even considered taking out a pad and playing them totally unresponsive like @Dude0909 mentioned. With how you’re both describing them, I feel like I’d enjoy the og Respawn unresponsive a lot more than these as 0A yoyos. I might have to pick one up in the future. My go to setup at the moment for 1A is only 59g, so a Respawn might be right up my alley. The shape is real nice too.

I may give the OG a try for 1a. I’m always a little apprehensive about the ‘throw out a pad’ method, if only because my play is sloppy and none of my throws are straight, so half of them will be more responsive than the other half, lol.

Lots of vibe. Very poor spin times. Noisy. Terrible hubstack implementation.

I subsequently decided to try a ($13) YT Sage instead. Best “beginner investment” I ever made. Compared to the Sage, the K-1 was complete garbage, and I stand by that assessment.

I second everything you mentioned here and would like to add poor ‘stability’.
