What did you get in the mail today? 2021

Yeah, best way to shave! Used to have a lot of issues with shaving, until I discovered the straight

I have a few, but I love this gimmicky old thing…the ads used to claim the magnetic blade would “make the hairs stand on end” for a closer shave

That’s hilarious.

This has been mine for the past fifteen or so years.

Got new cocobolo scales on it at some point. Keep looking at new 7/8 razor. But just can’t justify the current prices to myself.

I tried safety razors for a long time but my skin is just too sensitive. If anyone wants a box of vintage Giltette Techs and News for dirt cheap get at me.

I could see that also no sharpening or stropping needed. Saves time. Excellent!

Time to work on some fixie skills.

Got some red mini spike SEs from @Lido so these bad boys are twinning even harder now. Just gotta put a terribly painted star on the MCMO and we’ll be in business.

Also got a TMBR TAW-TAW from @Chriscatastrophe on which I landed every one of my first three kickflips attempts! Good energy on this bad boy for sure!

Gotta love that FedEx 2 day shipping from YYE. This clear and Dragon Slayer showed up lightning fast! Stoked to add these to my growing Panorama family.

Yooo black SE’s look so dope on Dragon Slayer, did yours come with them? I’m gonna have to get ahold of some and swap mine out!

I’m really starting to regret passing up the dragon slayer color.

For like 50 bucks I have no regrets

The fact that it was 50 bucks makes me regret it even more. I have a panorama from OD first drop and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I held off on getting another one to get a survivalist and then ended up missing that one by about 2 minutes.

MK1 Exia. Love it so far but mine has a bit of vibe that I’ll be working on tuning out. Very surprised at how light this thing feels on the string, it’s nothing like my other hybrids and bimetals.

Got a package from @AaronW and my half of a trade with someone!

I am a huge fan of One Drop yoyos. In fact, they make all of my most favorite (monometal) yoyos. But could someone explain to me what the big deal is about the Panorama? I just don’t get it. I know that its fans find it to be simply awesome, but I’m interested in learning why its fans feel that way.

I just got one and have yet to see that light, personally. I might need to swap the bearing to a concave to get it to play the way I enjoy. I kept the flat bearing in a couple of other ODs, like the Lunar Eclipse (which so far I prefer to the Pano), but I’ve been putting the Panorama down in favor of a few others lately every time I’ve tried it.

I’m in the same boat. I don’t have anything bad to say about the Panorama, but I sincerely just like the Parlay more.

I tried it with a centering bearing, ultra light side effects, and I just kept going back to the Parlay.

It’s a darned fine yoyo, I just didn’t click with it.

Yesterday, my first impression of the Panorama was similar, but I love the feel of it in the hand and the surface is awesome. I think it was the width that was challenging compared to what I’m used to. With that in mind I gave it a fresh look today. I paid a little more attention to its needs (which will probably make me sharper overall), and it’s crazy how my feeling about this throw has changed. I like variety and this is satisfying. I also love, love, love the sound of it. Some throws can be so winey, hissy or ringy. This one is relaxed and chill.

Yeah I think the panorama is like the VW GTI of the yoyo world. Are there other throws that are better for competition? Obviously. Are there slimmer throws that are more pocketable? Of course. But this one does everything very well. The panorama is just the perfect “do it all” yoyo, and that one drop smoothness just adds to the overall effect as the cherry on top. It’s unresponsive but not too much so, as you can work in regens and stalls if you want to and it doesn’t lose its appeal.

You’re allowed to like other cars more than the GTI, but the fact remains that it’s the best car for every situation.

My 2 cents
