What did you get in the mail today? 2021

That’s great - I like these curios, one-off’s etc.

I prefer the original Grail over the B7 also.

Last week was kind of stacked for the cool stuff I got in the mail.

I’d say the B7 plays a touch quicker, and is marginally lighter. The difference is fairly subtle, but it’s there. They both feel pretty floaty to me.
First impressions … I think I prefer the OG.
There’s another thread on this if interested…

I know there’ve been a lot of discussions about the Ti Sunbird so hope you don’t mind some extra input.

I don’t have the Sunbird, but to me, the tibird is more like a “chill” throw than a speed throw. There are some yoyos that, when throwing them, you just couldn’t help to speed up. And I don’t think the tibird is one of them. It doesn’t have the momentum to suggest me to go faster, and I need to consistently apply force on it to make it maintain a high speed.

However, it doesn’t mean I dislike the tibird. Instead, this might be my favorite yyfriends throw (I have Hummingbird, Peregrine & Dove). Thanks to the ti material, the tibird has some floatiness and some hollowed feel. It bounces a little bit on the string which makes it really fun to play (not like some extremely rim weighted bi-metals). It still has the potential to go fast if needed, but I feel that it plays the best at mid speed. It allows me to lay back and really enjoy my time doing all kinds of tricks (with the trade off of some acceleration).

So personally speaking i think this would be a great candidate for a EDC. And if you are really into speed play and decide to get a tibird, then I suggest getting the raw version. The blasted colorways have a (relatively) coarse surface which might hurt the smoothness a bit. Plus the raw version might be a hair lighter.

(But I gotta say the purple/copper one is really dope… I’m so glad that I got this one instead of the rainbow lol)

Of course I don’t mind extra input! I want more input actually hahaha.

Ahhh I see. Seems like it’s quite different from the Hummingbird. The Hummingbird would always want to go faster hahaha. Ohhh that’s nice, but I think the blasted version will be fine for me, especially when I’m going to use it as an EDC, the yoyo is not going to stay super smooth for very long anyways. I enjoy blasted yoyos more as well. Thanks for the extra input, I appreciate it!

Nice mail day!
What’s the Nest2 like?

The Nest2 is actually pretty decent for what I paid (€29) I think it’s deadstock.
Really smooth, floaty, not the most stable but gets me through a short combo.

Bought these 2 (Nest2 & Jizz) to be my edc/for other people to try.

Anyone have any idea what brands the bottom 2 throws are from?
