Some d sized bearings for classified purposes…
Strawberry splash quake.
Blood red b+ YYSL venom
Ocean blue YYSL Venom
No. It’s not numbered and is modded to accept responsive bearing but other than that is in really close to mint condition. Plays great unresponsive.
How much did you pay? Did you get it from the guy on BST?
I ordered a YYF OneSTAR just because I had a little bit of extra money so that should be pretty entertaining for 5A
Nothing this week, but in 2 weeks I’m getting new throws.
my new lime green shutter! feels heavier then i expected, but i love it! also some kitty string, and a konkav ceramic bearing
My new red shutter! I like it, but when I tried to do a gyro flop it just dies. Does the bearing need breaking in or something?
I like how snappy the binds are and it looks awesome and it is really quiet.
No, normally that is the thrower’s fault.
That’s so weird though… It worked fine when I put the CT in.
Could be the response. Is it slightly raised from being flush? The Werrd Minute ships like that. Slows right down during certain kinds of tricks.
What didn’t i get in the mail? My Genesis, because Kristoph10 scammed me out of it! Sorry for the negativity but i’m really sad.
I’ve noticed that’s how my new Aqua Snow tires were when I put them in a few months ago. Cause a nasty vibe when the string rubbed against them but there fine now!
Got a Skywalker and an almost free FHZ today. Skywalker is pretty sweet, wish I had gotten one sooner
The whole gyro “flop” comes from the pull, and how you move the string…
I can do it on a stock Lyn Fury, where the response is not flush, proving that the whole flop is from technique.
FHZ coming by next week
Canvas I love it
Sure! It’s definitely technique. Just like when we used to lose spin trying to get through Skin the Gerbil, our skill wasn’t quite up to it. But it was implied that the author can get through a flop on other yoyos and just not this one. I was simply wondering what was different about this one… and it could indeed be the response, coupled with a need to improve technique.
My technique isn’t awful, but the raised response on my Werrd Minute causes massive loss of spin sometimes. If I played so clean that I could get through my tricks even on a fully responsive yoyo, then I would be less concerned because my technique trumps that sub-part setup. However, the fact is that I do lose spin whereas on yoyos with recessed response, I don’t. Also, when I put a CT into the Minute, the profile helps keep the string away from the response. Similar thing happened here! Popped in a CT and it was fine!
In other words: you are probably right in general. But that doesn’t mean that the setup of the yoyo can’t be optimized.
To throw another idea out there: are we absolutely sure the bearing is totally unresponsive? A well-lubed bearing is going to lose spin faster on a flop, too. It worked OK on the CT, but it might not be the profile but rather the spin of the replacement.
Is it just me, or the week befor you get a new throw do you go on youtube and watch every single review and unboxing and stuuf to get you more pumped for it?
