What did you get in the mail, 2026?

My first top came! Definitely not the best to cut my teeth on, but it sure is cute! Love the string and button. Got the side spin and upside down spin to under the couch down pat. The kids are determined to get it spinning on the tip before me…

Cricket and Buffalo landed Friday, but I’ve been too busy playing them to post about it!

Only took me 2 days to burn through the stock string on the Cricket, an indicator of play time.

These are wonderful.
Thank you Boise Woodworks!

Update:

Not yoyos, but also handmade wood. 2 new pairs of geta from my favorite shop arrived, despite import fees, UPS, and their additional fees.

(OT) Funny… You walk around Florida with geta, while in Italy I usually eat with kuaizi…

Blumi! Very cute drawstring bag and the blast is super nice. Not much time to throw it today but tomorrow is my Friday so, soon!

The heat and humidity in some parts of Japan is just as intense as the heat and humidity in Florida, or so I’ve been told

I dig your kuaizi! There’s a section of our flatware drawer dedicated to sticks and we always have a huge package of waribashi in the kitchen.

I normally don’t post to mail day threads or anything but I’ve got a rare one I thought a few Jojo fans could appreciate.

It’s just a bandai accel origin but I had get this version for the collection!

I’ve never had geta, and I’d be very curious to wear them and walk around in them; it’s an experience I miss.
I eat with kuaizi every day. Obviously, not all Italian food is suitable for eating with them, but I prepare it beforehand, cutting it into small pieces, so it’s not a problem.
These are very standard chopsticks, usually found in sets of 10 pairs. They’re made of fiberglass, they are eternal, very practical, can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher, and have all the characteristics of typical Chinese chopsticks. They’re about 25 cm long, and their shape symbolizes the union between the earth (the square back, as it was represented in ancient China) and the sky (the round front tip (the sky understood as a spherical dome)… the same symbolism as ancient coins, round with a square hole inside.
Since I have two houses and therefore carry them around with me, I’ve always thought about a container to carry them. A few years ago, I had the idea of taking a piece of bamboo cane and using it to make a case… what you see in the photo.

First dunk. B grade rebound, and the gummy weight pro. I justified the cost of the gummy weight because the b grade was a good deal.

The rebound: I really like it so far, played it for maybe an hour last night 1A, and maybe 1/2 to 1 hour with 5A. Really like it. I think D bearings have a tendency to feel a little snaggy if you’re really used to C bearings, but this is the least snaggy one I’ve played. Maybe I’m in the honeymoon phase, but I do really like it.

The counterweight is seriously good, first impression is that it’s like a Duncan die that really feels not hard, and not soft. It’s Goldilocks for sure, and even writing this, it’s just funny because I don’t know what to compare it to material wise. Really like that it’s not like my homemade bouncy balls counterweights that are too grippy and get sucked into the yoyo when it touches because it’s so grabby. No 5a clip because I’m not making my own combos yet.
