Honestly….. it’s not a great playing yoyo, so pretty expensive for what it ends up being. I only got one cause I found someone on Ebay basically giving up on it. lol
That’s sick! The one I have is heavy too, but plays…. kinda bad tbh, so fixed axel might have been a better way to go.
Last drop of 2025/first yoyo of 2026 has been delivered! Pics don’t do it justice (those blue rims go hard)…
G2 Plasmaberries AL7 Herdsman
Cherry Alpha and custom build from @Rich Boise Woodworks. This is throws #4 and #5 that I’ve gotten from him. Each time they get better. The custom design feels so good. Thanks Rich!
Gorgeous! ![]()
Do you like it?
Whats the deal with gibb? Its just a person who sponsors contests?
That’s a big question, most of it can’t be answered. So the 888 itself was made for Gibb to hand out to the ones who earned it by going over and beyond to help others in the community, sadly some were grabbed and thrown on the market. Gibb theirself will always stay the mystery but a reminder to help more, if you go to your local club and see them using horrible yoyos then without breaking the bank toss them some better quality to help the younger generation. Gibb is the idea of staying silent and helping the ones in this community that need it.
Awhile back someone had sent me a number of different halves of plastic throws as well as axles, bearings i.e. guts and such. There was a throw monkey half in there as well as inner parts that fit but I couldn’t find the corresponding half. I know it’s not an expensive throw or anything, but I was trying to Frankenstein’ one up without any luck. Managed to score one the other day ![]()
Just got my trade from @Thomas!
It’s blue and it’s beautiful. Now I know what color I want for the plastic one!
Like Lydia…. I also got an Area 51(g2) in the Snozberries colorway.
Easily the best lightweight yo-yo I’ve ever thrown.
And the Anno work is visually stunning in person.
Looks pretty good in pics too come to think of it, lol
Actually, I wasn’t even thinking of it before I bought it. I mean, I don’t think of a lot of stuff before I buy them. Even with all the yo-yos, I have I don’t even have a percentage of all the yo-yos there are. And if I bought one Of everything I probably have to put my mailing address on the same cardboard box I’d probably end up living in.
But one night last week I got home from work second shift. I get home around 10:30 PM pacific time. I had this bright idea to get my iPad and go through my email. Right before I got done scrolling through my email I saw a little trashcan by my spam folder.
I wonder… That’s what I thought to myself… I wonder what is in my spam folder?
Turns out it’s an advertisement from Jake about the area 51 yo-yo drop. Well, since it had been in my spam folder and knowing how fast his stuff sells out, I just shrug my shoulders and deleted it. And then sometime later in the evening… Do you know that time of evening where vampires are creeping around. I had this bright idea before clocking out for the night to just go to Jake’s site just to see what was up? Sold out sold out sold out sold out sold out. Area 51… One left.
About 15 minutes later, I was in bed and there were none left.
Lucky me.
This particular yo-yo plays so well for me. The only thing happier than me would be a gorilla that just escaped from the zoo.
I have a canary… Very light it’s OK no big deal
I have a Pacquiao… Very light it’s OK no big deal
This Area 51…. Very light… it’s more than OK and it is a big deal. A light yo-yo with a weight exactly where it needs to be.
Combined mail day here. A Cheatcode from the YYE store, a Gazafury, and a Cloudfly!
I saw the Gazafury mentioned in @fradiger 's list of top releases of 2025:
spingear gaza fury - imagine a POM lyn fury with an SPR kit allowing you to pick between D and C bearings, lots of fun! (p.s. the name is because the design was from a user named “gazamune”, nothing political)
I knew I had to have it, and it was a nice bonus to see that another run of the undersized steel Cloudfly, which has been on my wishlist a really long time, was in stock (not sure which version, though it definitely isn’t a Cloudfly II)
But here are a few more pictures of this interesting Lyn Fury clone, next to my satined beater Lyn Fury:
The “spr kit” is large, flat-backed, and fits very snugly on the axle post, so it will probably have limited applications for anyone wishing to use it on a different yoyo.
But what about the body of the yoyo itself? An original Buzz-On SPR kit won’t fit, since it doesn’t have a flat back, but.. Will… it… STEM?
(Pardon my dust.) Heck yes, it will STEM! And it’ll throw in a Schmoove ring at no extra cost.
Really cool yoyo here.
Edit: I forgot to mention that if POM isn’t your thing there’s also translucent PC version.
it really is fun, definitely my most thrown yoyo since getting it
