Ohmygosh, Spy Vs Spy?! That just triggered a core memory for me.
I was excited to get this one but then had to run off to take the kids to a winter walk of lights at the botanical gardens so I didn’t get much time to throw and it was cold!
Small miracle: the mail NEVER comes before I have to leave for work!
My first MFD yoyo, the Deadly S7ns Coffin Candy Juice:
Absolutely gorgeous
Love this color!
Let me know what you think after you’ve played it for a few days
@hobbygod I spent a long time going back and forth with this one and the brown one cause I liked them the most. Now I’m debating getting the brown one also cause I’m loving this thing lol
Brown is cool too bc of the engraving but I think all the colors are fire and you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Just added a Smo Bro to the No Jive collection!
But now I have to figure out how to add it to the wall display
Somebody I worked with at a pioneer festival in July surprised me by shipping me a wooden yoyo he made himself out of walnut. The note said that he left the axle unglued to that I could mess around with the gap as well as the way the halves are oriented. If someone could give me some advice on this that’d be great. I have yet to measure it so IDK how it is compared to “normal” wood fixies
Setting the gap width with 8 playing cards is common: Search results for '8 playing cards' - YoYoExpert Forums
Paper or plastic cards ![]()
Thicknesses do vary, so it’s best to find a paper or plastic card that is ~1/8th the correct gap width for a fixed axle yo-yo.
I’m guessing a standard deck of Bikes will work fine…
I think it is a good place to start, given the available references.
FWIW, I have set the gap on home-made wooden fixed axles by using the number of generic index cards that fit in the gap of a Butterfly.
Playing cards are more standard than unknown card stock, but not exact.
@Glenacius_K for the gap width
