Lmao not to derail the mailday thread or anything, but I don’t mind pluggin the band
A buddy of mine recruited some fellow music school grads back in 2022 to perform his compositions and we’ve been playing live/recording for a bit now - we all graduated from the same jazz program so it’s cool to get to still play together & nice for me to have a musical outlet I can enjoy when I’m not doing real estate.
Below is our NPR Tiny Desk submission from last year, it’s more pop fusion than some of our more improvised jazz fusion jams.
Dudeee that grooves!! Man thats some high class stuff. Gotta plug the band, we’re all glad you did! Thanks man always curious when I hear someone’s a musician. Ripping! I’m gonna listen to that song again
Epic mail day all thanks to @mistakenbigfoot! I’m going to be holding off on buying any more throws in 2024 went from having none to almost 20 in a few weeks. Time to learn some more tricks!
…and some Markmont new formula. The nylon feels great, but is pretty thin and I still have the problem I always seem to with nylon: more axle knots. Might try it on a Loop 720.

Traded my camera for an Atmos Thunderberry with @sammy_j and got a whole bunch of amazing extras! I’m completely blown away, this is the best surprise I’ve had in a long time!
They’re all excellent throws, the Goji is my favorite now lol, and that purple motion linear is the smoothest thing I’ve ever thrown, I didn’t know a yo-yo could be so smooth, and the shape almost makes it feel like I’m cheating lol
Arrived today! Initial impression is very positive. Love the custom side effects and box.
ive tried a couple of strings and have found that the response pads aren’t very grippy. This has happened to me before with a new yoyo purchase. Any thoughts? I don’t really think it’s a matter of preference as I’ve tried to bind a couple of times and it doesn’t. Suppose I could swap them out but that seems a bit silly with a brand new yoyo.
Fwiw, the Bathysphere should come with an OT Fat. For me, though, it was the string tension, or rather, lack thereof. Once I increased the tension binds were significantly easier and the return was much more powerful
Thicker string? Usually, if I have trouble getting binds with a new throw, I just have to adjust my bind a little. Maybe a longer tail. I imagine it’ll play great once the pads break in.
