I am super thankful to all those that helped make this significant mail day happen.
Shoutout to @ChowChowNow and @EddieJIA for having some of the most beautiful Japanese throws on the BST. Big shoutout to @FewandFarBetween for this absolutely stunning drop and to @G2_Jake for the beautiful display case to show these new additions off in.
And not that she’ll see it but big shout out to my wonderful lady, without her, none of this would be here at all.
Hope everyone’s enjoying themselves this holiday season!
One Drop Silhouette in Saturday Market. Beautiful yoyo that plays beautifully. Just need one more Saturday Market (the Weekender) to complete a collection goal.
The Sochi Method in the Olive colorway ended up surprising me in a couple of ways. I knew that it was going to look nice based on the pictures of it here on YYE, but it looks even better in person. Reflections appear to be somewhat golden, so the yoyo ends up looking like an antique treasure in the right light. I figured that I’d be making some concessions in the grinds department due to the shiny finish, but this is the first glossy-finished yoyo I’ve found that grinds every bit as well as traditional blast/matte finishes.
Very nice! I’ve been keeping my eye on that one for a little while now but I haven’t heard much about it. If possible, i would love to hear your thoughts on it so far
I really like the Method, but I’d still consider myself an intermediate thrower so keep that in mind when reading the rest of this. Although I have a ton of yoyos, I can’t do any horizontal stuff so I’m sure that I’m not nearly as demanding of the yoyo as many of the other people here. I got the Method and the Sense Code 2.0 at the same time and I think they’re both very good yoyos, especially for the price point. The Code 2.0 comes in under $30, which I think makes it an outstanding deal. I’ve been alternating between the two since I got them, and even though I like both of them a lot they’re very different from one another. The Method is a collaboration between Unparalleled and Sochi, and I can see and feel the Unparalleled influences (maybe from elements of the Coglite and Elevation?). It feels a bit smaller, lighter, and more refined compared to the Code. The Code feels bigger and heavier to me, so I was shocked to find out that the Method was actually 0.5 grams heavier than the Code when I weighed them both with strings on. I guess the difference is due to the type of aluminum, as the Code is 6061 and the Method is 7068. If I were pressed, I’d probably classify the Code as an excellent starter metal yoyo and the Method as a good choice for someone more advanced. I’m still in the early stages of getting to know each of them, but so far the Method has been impressing me every time I pick it up. My favorite tricks are grinds and finger spins, and even though neither of them has a dimple, it’s easy to do finger spins on both of them. If you have tried other Unparalleled yoyos and liked them, then you’ll probably like the Method as well.
