I just got home and had a chance to throw it around, and it put a huge smile on my face. It was an impulse buy at a retail book store. It was $14.99, and there’s no sales tax here in NH, so I grabbed it despite having low expectations for the yoyo. I had already seen this same yoyo at the same store before, but I had resisted temptation until today.

The yoyo itself is a big, chonky, heavy responsive plastic. It actually plays pretty well given it’s heft. The light display is what makes this yoyo shine. The only other light up yoyos I have are a YYF Kui and a Duncan Limelight. This yoyo is far brighter and more colorful than either of them. What’s especially cool is that each cap not only lights up, but also has an infinity mirror effect. Given the price, I highly recommend.

Does it have a bearing? Starburst response?

Interesting. Thanks!

That looks like it could run a 720 or Raider bearing (K bearing) in there with those spacers and guts.

I just got one of these a couple weeks ago at B&N. The tunnel effect of the super bright lights is great.

Mine didn’t have a bearing, but I’m convinced that it’s supposed to have one. If you follow the QR code to the promo video the are sure playing it like a bearing throw.

I’ve tried everything I have, but can’t find a bearing that fits it. Please let me know if you find one that works.

I did just notice the packaging clearly shows a bearing, and the instructions include installing the “circular steel bearing”.

Right. It’s supposed to have one. How weird that neither of ours did. Seems like you may be able to unscrew the yoyo while it’s still in the packaging and the bearing might fall out.

I looked around the room I opened it in and I couldn’t find the bearing. Too bad, this yoyo would be awesome with a bearing.

Nice! The grasshopper gtx is an amazing throw and it’s definitely one of my favorite bi-metals to use! You won’t regret it trust me

I’ve only heard good things! I ordered the light blue/gold. The look and shape appear to be rather ideal.

The Grasshopper GTX is my favorite Duncan. I honestly feel it is the best modern-era yoyo in their catalog.
